Testing in the U.S. was always a challenge. Malden tried to provide free rapid tests even before the Federal offers. But supplies could not keep up with demand. So signs went up saying tests were out of stock. (And a smaller sign said face masks were required to enter City Hall.)

I escaped for three years and four jabs.
Sneezy and headachy yesterday evening, tested positive today.
I won't be going out to celebrate the New Year.

Just got my “Free at-Home COVID-19 Tests" in the mail today. Took about 32 days. Funny, guess where they are made?
No surprise - CHINA :-)

Coronavirus drive-thru testing appointments are offered here. So are the vaccines (Pfizer-Biontec today), likewise by appointment, rather than first-come, first-served basis by walk-in residents. In a few months, perhaps, all of this will be quickly forgotten and most of the old habits will return, dispensing with face masks and buffer of social distancing. Experts warn, though, there will be more pandemics to come as wild creatures are crowded into smaller habitats encroached by humans. Then the quarantines and economic stoppage, social life, and emotional distress on a mass scale will come back into place.
