It is wonderful to be able to watch courtship behavior. Since you can drive on the beach in Texas, we were able to get closer to these Sandwich Terns shooting from inside the car using it as a blind. Because there is so much continuous vehicle traffic on the beach, all the birds are quite accustomed to cars and were pretty oblivious of us.
What is interesting to watch is how the different females react when a male presents a fish, will she take it....or not???

Red Fox mating season has begun and these two have been enjoying each others company. I first saw them running and playing in the woods. Later, they were resting about 10 feet off the ground on a large fallen tree. In this image, the male is sitting behind the vixen. He seems very protective of her. They were busy looking at a rival male in the distance and didn't notice me. Hopefully, we will have little kits running around in the Spring.

These Cedar Waxwings were so hard to capture, I spent at least 2 hours waiting for them to be in the clear. I was dying seeing all that passing of the flower petal to the partner and could not capture this wonderful behaviour because of so many branches in front of them and being unable to move around. I had to crop a lot for some shots. So these images became behaviour shots only.
The grebes at Rutland Water were busy going through their courtship routines including beak rubbing, nest building and weed dancing. It was a joy to watch, especially as grebes I've seen at other places haven't been as willing to share such intimate moments at such close quarters.

Northern Cardinals engage in a behavior called courtship feeding where the male feeds the female, especially during courtship and when the female is incubating eggs. This behavior helps strengthen their bond and ensure the female receives the necessary nutrients for breeding.

I went for some more target practice at flying Burnet moths and noticed that they were attracted by two things. The first was flowers, and the second was virgin females. Amorous males were patrolling the meadow in search of newly-hatched females. I found a freshly-emerged female sitting on a grass head just above the papery, off-white cocoon with the empty pupal case extruding from the top. So I got in position and waited for her suitors to arrive. This one tried and tried but was ultimately unsuccessful in getting her to mate. But I managed to capture the moment that he arrived, using a shutter speed of 1/4000 to freeze the wings, as they move so fast all you can see in real life is a red blur.

Sadly the female was struck and killed by a motorist as she was crossing the street.
Part of the courtship display of the Great Crested Grebes. This is the head bobbing and shaking that preceded the (once in a lifetime for me) weed dance. Incidentally seeing this behaviour made me realise I need to understand and get more into video (for moments like this) alongside the stills.

Some male birds will bring food to a female as part of courtship to show he can provide for any chicks she may produce. He may simply bring the food for her to eat or in some cases actually transfer it directly to her mouth just as he would to hungry nestlings.

Goldeneye have a little mating dance ritual and as part of the choreography they throw their heads back like in the photo. The courtship display is very entertaining to watch it if you can catch them in the middle of it. The Bufflehead and the Hooded Merganser have similar rituals too. The following Cornell Lab of Ornithology web page provides a nice snapshot of the Duck Courtship Displays www.allaboutbirds.org/what-to-watch-for-duck-courtship-vi...
