Darkroom

This is my AS coursework final which is approximately 4 A4 pages in length and a little wider than the width of of an A4 page. This is in three sections which each hang from each other to create a wall hanging. The 3 sections are; generations of women, generations of men and generations of marriage. I have used photograohs of my own family applied to fabric and paper/card using graphite transfers, stitching and selotape transfers after working into the bases and using lace and embellishments to decorate. I have created each piece by layering many pieces of material, tissue paper, tracing paper and white emulsion. To finish the piece I coffee stained the whole thing to give it an aged appearance and hung it from a stick attached by lace to give it an authentic feel.

Another one of the Still Life series. The drawing includes the same objects as the others and some others but it is drawn from a different angle.

Personally I prefer the effect and angle I created with the other one as I think it is more powerful and interesting.
