I went out wandering for a while on my birthday a couple of weeks ago before a snow storm hit and wound up in suburban Bloomingdale, IL, a little town of about 22,000 on the north end of DuPage County. That's the same town where I went looking for the headwaters of the East Branch of the DuPage River last month. I passed through Bloomingdale this time on US 20 looking for another forest preserve, but stopped when I noticed a little old town district on the highway's south side. This is where the original Bloomingdale grid was carved out of the prairie up on the Roselle Moraine in 1833, and it's all very cute.
Most of Old Town Bloomingdale is behind me, though. I faced this way because I wanted to get a picture of this old school. This structure was built in 1891 as the second structure to house the Bloomingdale elementary school. The school moved to another building in 1937, and the village took this building over to use as the village hall until 1977. After that, the building housed various retail establishments, and now it's home to a Pan-American Bank.

A shy, perhaps amorous, couple in the reading room of the Hansablick Hotel in Berlin. The Hansablick, where we stayed, is a virtual art gallery. A sign says the name of this piece is Camilla and Charles. But the sculptor, Evelyne Almayrac, has created a number of similar couples without famous names.

Ah... good times! Photographed a couple walking at Greenlake, where lots of cyclists, pedestrians, and canine spend time exercising in the sunshine. They got plenty of stares and/or congratulations from passersby. :-) (In case anyone is worried about her dress getting dirty, this was a "Day After Session", not the actual wedding day.)

Cubana, the flag carrier of the caraibic State, leased several DC-10s during the '90 to operate flights to Europe. Most of them (from AOM) were wearing double titles, having Cubana title simply added to the full color scheme of the AOM aircrafts. At least a couple operated with Cubana only title.
TU-TAM (c/n 46892 l/n 204, series -30) belongs to AOM and were leased from November 1992 to July 1993. Slide taken at MEX, the aircraft still wear AOM tail logo.
