Today I did my USGS BBS (breeding bird survey) route in southeast Michigan. A BBS route is a pre-determined 25-mile route, stopping every 0.5 miles for a 3-minute point count. Most of the stops along my route are in agricultural area. This field in Lenawee County may be soybeans. Birds included Horned Larks, Savannah Sparrow, and Vesper Sparrow at this stop.
