These tiny sheep were sold by the piece, but exhibited in vast numbers and near-random arrangement looked like a realistic lilliput herd, the kind you can imagine and count to fall asleep :)

The primitive monastery of San Pedro de Tejada was founded in the year 850, in the time of King Ordoño of Leon and ruling Castile, count Don Rodrigo. Thirty religious were the first to inhabit the monastery, its first Abbot was Rodamio. The monastery of San Pedro de Tejada was in its early days the most important of the Merindades, it left the monks who later founded the monastery of Oña, which eventually would reach more history and splendor. This shift Valdivielso Valley remains almost today day, somewhat away from the main routes.
This is one of the churches before romanesque times that has best and is almost intact, without attachments. It's a perfect construction, keep a resemblance to examples of San Quirce Burgos and Santa María monastery of knee Valley. The temple is dated in the beginning of the 12th century, and very refined Romanesque. Its beautiful cover is open on the western façade. The ship has three stages that ends in a semicircular apse. In the section immediately to the apse rises a robust and at the same time elegant Tower of 17 meters in height, which is the total length of the building. It also highlights the fine sculptural work that appears on the corbels and capitals of the temple.

"In 1741 Alexandre de Vendeuvre, descendant of one of the oldest Norman families, related to the Counts of Flanders, began to build a typical countryside home. For his summer residence he called on the services of the well-known architect Jacques-François Blondel.
The restraint of the overall style is relieved by the balance and harmony of the mouldings and sculptures. Blondel paid particular attention to the highly sophisticated interior circulation and decoration. Classed as a Historic Monument both for its exterior and interior, Vendeuvre is the prototype of an aristocratic norman countryside residence of the 18th century.
Created in the middle of the 18th Century and accompanying the construction of the château, Formal gardens were transformed into a large landscape garden in the 19th century.
The park was restored from 1970. Guy de Vendeuvre was inspired by the 18th Century plans, simplifying them and completing them with water features and topiary creations.
Behind the topiary work in the foreground is a mirror of water between lime-tree arbors; from the terrace overlooking the box borders, the fountains and the water-jets, the view extends over the meadows of the Dives valley to the hills of the Pays d'auge."

The responses were of those of serious concern and concentration as Joel and Aisha, my grandchildren, (and a missions worker) stood on a bluff overlooking the historic city of Toledo, Spain. Missionary Gary Sones was speaking of the Spanish Inquisition, and of its influence on Christianity, directing our attention across the canyon to the very buildings from which these orders were issued.
Critiques welcome.
