This is looking all the way down the island in the kitchen (wide angle). You have a LOT of counterspace! All the furniture in the house can be sold with the house. Price is negotiable.

So this is our solution to the counterspace problem. We built this to fit around the minifridge and it is used to house all our supplementary kitchen equipment(as you can see there are many cooking implements strewn about).
This is what I'm thinking for in the kitchen to provide more counterspace. The cabinets are good for more storage: silverware, pans, etc. The back will be unfinished, but we could maybe stain it or something and position it like an island
The other problem with the kitchen was the lack of counterspace near the stove... so, it's remodel time!
Our lame excuse for a pantry. I'm working under extreme conditions here, especially given that said "pantry" is filled mostly with toddler snacks for the picky sous-chef. Because our kitchen is not equipped with a pantry, I bought these wheeled carts at The Container Store and slid them under our kitchen desk (which is used more as a catch-all counterspace than a desk). It's not perfect, but it works.
