The known mirror issue is caused by the back lens of the objective which protrudes into the camera body. Here is a comparison between two popular objectives, which are accused to cause mirror problems: CZJ Pancolar 1.8/80mm on the left and Asahi S-Tak 3.5/24mm on the right. On both I have drawn red lines which mark the camera body level (the lower one) and the maximum potruding level of the back of the objective. The difference in distances of both cases can be clearly seen - although the photo is a little bit unsharp.
The question is 'Can my objective modified for 5D?'. The answer is simple 'yes' or 'no'. All depends on the material contacting with the mirror. If it is glass, forget all your dreams (the Tak in this case). If the innermost lens is attached with a collar metal which seems to be a little bit too thick, you can use lathe, file or other tools - if you are skilled enough!
Sometimes also a reversible operation can be made: put a piece of duct tape on the adapter (objective side!) then use a sharp carpet knife and cut a round (M42) hole into the tape for the lens thread and screw the lens in. If you can focus to infinity after this and the mirror doesn't hit, be happy. If less success, peel the tape ring off and forget this adaptation project.

The camera used in this series is most propably Canon F1, Canon EOS 650 or Minox 35GT. Films are mostly of Whatsoever brand and the films were scanned and burnt on CDs by the developing company (which is totally responsible for the logical names of the photos.) Photoshops or alike are so totally unknown in this series...
Life is full of miracles, part two. This set of photos is from a hard disk which was totally broken but suddenly started a new life after being buried in my cupboard for a couple of years. Today it has had serious problems again - so I got a little bit smart idea to upload the rest here... (The order seems to be random or something close to it.)
Elämä on täynnä ihmeitä, osa kaksi.

Emanuele Tamagnini – Nerds Attack
Brani violenti, sporchi e vitali. The Niro, Giorgio Canali, Heike Has The Giggles, Rein, honeybird & the birdies.
