I walked home from an art opening on the West Side in the upper 30s to my work locale in the upper 50s on the East side after attending the 2nd worst dinner party in my life.

No, someone else just drove my car 90-odd miles to the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, and posed that stuff on it for photos, and hired some fat loser to pose for a couple photos, right? ^_^;
I will come back in December. I should see about drawing up a contract if I decide to go for renting a table space for anything worth selling from my horde stashed in the back rooms of my house. ^_^;

I used to work for a certain government department that shared a site with a few random types of businesses, one of which was a small rental by a company called Marblo. This company produces 'marblonite', or snazzy looking glowing translucent surfaces you see in chic and overpriced nightclubs. I clearly remember my first encounter with it in the raw, a glowing space age looking plank jutting vertically from a plastic blow moulded footing advertising the company, and the sting when I touched it inappropriately and grabbed the metal tabs that were hooked up to the mains.
This appears to be of a similar nature, however it functions as a reactive surface. It was developed as part of an investigation into 'reactive space,' and is a pressure sensitive surface which starts to glow with the slightest touch. Be it objects being placed on it, or hand prints, et cetera
It's definitely snazzy, I'd say it's replay value would be low though, but it's definitely a fun step into open creativity as far as the thought of it being used in bars or clubs, depending on how long it remains glowing it'd be interesting to see what creativity is unleashed by drunks. :P
Deceloped by KLOSS, it's only 2 cm's thick and powered by 12V and is apparently completely waterproof. They promise that they'll be available commercially for use as an architectural component within the retail and leisure industry in the very near future.

The masonry crew gets down to business placing the 30 lb cement blocks in position for the professional masons to erect the walls. Pictured in the center are Construction Management students: Stephen Crain (Florida), Lorenzo Fevola (Florida) and Mike Matern (Pennsylvania).
Stephen Craig, who had some construction experience prior to attending Florida Tech, proudly displays his concrete saw prowess. In addition to masonry work, Stephen is also a certified plumber and HVAC installer. After several years in the construction business, Stephen decided to earn his four-year degree.

A good variety of "old treasures" can be found at the Stone Pony, in Walsenburg, Colorado. If you saw many of these in actual use, you are pretty damn old!

Based on the passage Job 19:25-27, which reads, "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me."
Basically in this passage, Job is saying, "Take me away, Lord." I read through the Book of Job a while ago and this passage really stood out to me, so I figured I'd do an artwork based off of it. I figured that even though Job's seeing God is a metaphor because no one can see God in their flesh body, I'd do my own take on it. He's on his knees, in reverence of God, asking to be taken away. I tried to depict the worms destroying and devouring his flesh as best I could, which you can kinda see with the red (representing blood) and the the worms attached onto his flesh. I am not sure what he looked like when he was going through this, but I figured I did a pretty good representation. I didn't wanna make him too bloody because I figured that the worms were just staring to devour his flesh. I know earlier in the book he got boils, but I am not sure if he still had them at the time when we talks about the worms devouring his flesh. I figured his skin had changed color, though, considering what he went through leading up to the events in chapter 19. I heard somewhere that " yet in my flesh shall I see God" is better translated "out of my flesh shall I see God" or "out of my flesh will I see God." And I represented his seeing God by depicting a light above him, since, in a metaphorical sense, Christians believe that God is light. I dunno what God looks like, so I figured light would be the best way to depict Him. And verse 27 does say, "Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another," which was stated in the future tense at the time. It is possible that he saw God in the midst of the worms devouring his flesh, though. Maybe his seeing God is both metaphorical and literal. Here's what the Tyndale Concise Bible Commentary says regarding this passage: "Job expessed his belief in a bodily resurrection (Job 19:26-27). After death ("after my body has decayed") he was certain that he would see God with his eyes. I think that kinda goes along with "out of my flesh shall I see God," which implies that he would see God with his eyes after dying. That doesn't nullify my artwork, though, because I figure he was reminded of God's glory and love while he was in the state he was in.
I decided the light should be more than color because if it was just yellow, it'd be boring. I used (other) bright colors such as red and orange as well.
Hope I didn't contradict myself any way here. If I did, let me know. Hope I didn't go on to too much of a theological rant either.
