The Cooling Water Pumphouse pumped water from the Thames through the Cooling Water and Fire Water systems of Shell Haven Oil Refinery.

The cargo movement was conducted by Joint Task Force Support Forces Antarctica, headquartered at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, and led by 13th Air Force. The joint task force is currently conducting Operation Deep Freeze in support of the National Science Foundation and U.S. Antarctic Program. In this new view of the Andromeda galaxy from the Herschel space observatory, cool lanes of forming stars are revealed in the finest detail yet. Herschel is a European Space Agency mission with important NASA participation.
Andromeda, also known as M31, is the nearest major galaxy to our own Milky Way at a distance of 2.5 million light-years, making it an ideal natural laboratory to study star formation and galaxy evolution.
Sensitive to the far-infrared light from cool dust mixed in with the gas, Herschel seeks out clouds of gas where stars are born. The new image reveals some of the very coldest dust in the galaxy - only a few tens of degrees above absolute zero - colored red in this image.
By comparison, warmer regions such as the densely populated central bulge, home to older stars, take on a blue appearance.
Intricate structure is present throughout the 200,000-light-year-wide galaxy with star-formation zones organized in spiral arms and at least five concentric rings, interspersed with dark gaps where star formation is absent.
Andromeda is host to several hundred billion stars. This new image of it clearly shows that many more stars will soon to spark into existence.
After the ''Experimental Fish and mink farm'', we went to the nearby Cooling tower's of reactor 5, and 6.
The one the picture was supposed to be finished in 1986, but work was halted after the accident. Then resumed at some point, and finally completely stopped in 1988.
The dark ring that can be seen under the scaffolding, was the top in 1986.

A cool looking storm east of the Dallas area. I can't remember if it was severe or not.
This was taken in March of 2005.

Power walking(!) through the Univ. Parks today - taking advantage of another sunny day. I came across these birds having a lovely time paddling, drinking and cooling off in the clear flowing water.
I think water must have been the "theme" today. When arriving back at my car I discovered the water bottle I'd taken with me had leaked in my bag! Everything was soaked including my camera ... will have to learn how to use the Nikon now :-o.
