Mr Woodley is very proud to announce that this image featuring himself has been incorporated into a powerful short film by Dean Omori. Dean is a remarkably talented award winning film-maker based in Norwich, England.
There is a link to Dean's movie page on his Flickr profile.
Mr Woodley's image appears fleetingly towards the end of the intense, thought-provoking and perhaps slightly disturbing work entitled "A BURLESQUE OF SCHUBERTIAN BEAUTY".
Not everyone would find it easy viewing; but Mr Woodley just thinks it's cool to be a film star.

I wish that I could be like the cool kids,
'Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
I wish that I could be like the cool kids, like the cool kids.

For us in the 1950's, there were only a few places to go swimming. The first pool I remember was the public facility in Sugar Creek. Then there was the pool at Rockwood Country Club which was private but allowed paying guests at the pool. Both were soon eclipsed by the new "Cool Crest" pool on 40 Hiway which also had miniature golf, batting cages, pinball, and go-karts. Wow, it was like heaven.
Another place we sometimes swam was at the old Holiday Inn at 40 Hiway and Noland Road, now long gone. The pool there was open to non-guests who paid a fee. The pool was small and we only went a few times.
It's hard to overstate the importance that a swimming pool had for us as kids. When we eventually went on a few summer vacations with our grandmother or parents, the primary consideration when stopping for the night was always the availability of swimming. Nothing else really mattered.

I suddenly noticed there was a cat sleeping in the green. He was a nice red bandanna around his neck. Definitely a cool cat.
