Title: Active Noise Control System for Automobiles
Abstract: Our project focuses on identifying and cancelling road noise within a moving automobile using anti-noise. We decided to use the Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm due to its adaptability and simplicity, along with the Texas Instruments C6713 DSK which allowed us to implement the LMS algorithm in real time and create anti-noise at the point we wanted to cancel the road noise. Our final project goals are to create a prototype that can be used within a moving vehicle or emulated vehicle cabin and incorporate speakers above the driver’s head so that the noise control system does not interfere with the driver.

An intensive studio course, which focuses upon developing innovative processes for understanding and deploying a range of software and hardware based real-time I/O and electromechanical tools within the context of contemporary experimental art practice. The course covers real-time systems programming and basic digital/ analog electronics and looks to locate the usage of these within a wider aesthetic framework. In building a critical language with which to analyze relationships between real and virtual, static and mobile, local and remote, online and offline, students are encouraged to implement new tools, new systems and new presentational scenarios for performance, art installations, and other digital arts applications. The concentration in this class is on prepackaged but flexible tools, and rapid prototyping processes.

REMOTELY PILOTED TAILLESS FIGHTER AGILITY RESEARCH AIRCRAFT
Beginning in 1989, NASA and the McDonnell-Douglas Phantom Works (now part of Boeing) developed the technologies required to build an agile, tailless fighter to validate the advancements in a real flight environment. The Phantom Works developed two X-36 remotely piloted research aircraft in 1994 at their Lt. Louis MO, facility using rapid prototyping techniques. For flight control, the X-36 replaced elevators, ailerons, and rudders found on conventional aircraft with split ailerons and a thrust-vectoring jet exhaust for directional control. It also incorporated a unique, single channel digital fly-by-wire control system. The first flight of the X-36 occurred here at Edwards AFB on May 17, 1997. Over a 25-week period, the #1 aircraft (shown in the photos below) flew 31 successful research flights totaling 15 hours and 38 minutes with the final flight on November 12, 1997. The X-36 on display here is the #2 aircraft which never flew but was used for software development and engineering fit checks.
25 February 2024 – Cairo, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) announced today the launch of the project “Strengthening food control and phytosanitary capacities and governance” in cooperation with the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), and with financial support from the European Union, during the project’s founding workshop.
The founding workshop aims to begin evaluating the national food control system in Egypt using the joint food control system assessment tool between the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), with the participation of a large number of members of the House of Representatives, permanent secretaries, decision makers, and officials of contact points, in addition to representatives Universities, research institutions, private sector representatives and consumer associations.
