Catching the sunset and looking almost like a rocket trail

Contrails tonight were amazing.

This was done several years ago. I've always liked jet contrails. After reading a book on Barnett Newman I thought it would be interesting to take a photo of contrail that mimicked his work. Eventually I got the shot and here it is in all its pointless glory.

This one is glowing pink, lit by the sun that has already set where I'm standing.

when i opened the garage door this afternoon, there was a HUGE contrail. i had my telephoto lens on the camera, so you can't see how it filled the sky.
