For my latest Contract 3 project, I chose to immerse myself in the genres of landscape and macro photography. My camera was set exclusively to manual mode, giving me full creative control to capture the essence of each moment as authentically as possible.
Equipped with my macro lens, I embraced the challenge of macro photography, where precision is vital. After extensive research, I fine-tuned my camera settings to an aperture range of f/5 to f/11, an ISO setting between 1250-3200, and a steady shutter speed of 1/320. This careful calibration allowed me to freeze the tiniest movements, from the flutter of an insect's wing to the delicate sway of a flower's petal.
Transitioning to landscapes, I aimed to seize the fleeting magic of sunset with camera settings adjusted to f/5 to f/6.3, an ISO range of 3200-12800, and a shutter speed of 1/320. Experimentation was key; with each change in light and shadow, I tweaked the settings, chasing the perfect capture that would convey the sheer glory of the sunset's color palette against the silhouetted horizon.
The post-processing stage is where I began my transformations, starting in Adobe Camera Raw, where the raw beauty of each image was first enhanced, and finishing in Photoshop for the final polish. After editing all my final photos, I then chose my top 7 I think turned out the best overall and submitted them to the class pool.
