Continuing the fifteen-year tradition, Joint Base Charleston hosted FreedomFest Friday June 24, 2016, 6-10 p.m., at Marrington Plantation on the Weapons Station in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
This year’s event showcased live music from local band “Zero to Never,” provided activities and amusements for the kids of all ages, and culminated with an impressive fireworks display that lit up the Goose Creek skyline. Three local food trucks were also on site with food for purchase along with five private organizations selling food and other items.
FreedomFest is the installation’s Independence Day celebration held each year on the last Friday of June. It is a free event open to all JB Charleston community members to include service members, DoD civilians, retirees, and their families.
