Continuing with photos from or long road trip in May of 2021. We spent a couple cold nights camping near Taos, NM.

San Francisco de Asís Mission Church is a Spanish Colonial church in Ranchos de Taos, NM. I was channeling Ansel Adams here. The church itself hasn't changed a lot since Ansel Adams made his iconic image in 1929. I think he had a little more dramatic lighting in his image, than I have here, but it still felt good to set up my tripod where Ansel Adams did in 1929.

The state of the building as of March 28, 2012. What remains is some painting and fixing of bits as well as some more trim and other minor work.

Photoshop continues to kick my ass. Bit of a better way to do it, but kind of cheating.

So I am continuing with an old project of layering images, I felt I didnt go into exploring Little Planets as well as I could of so have decided to do my new college project on them, then hopefully try and take it a step further by creating a 3D Little Planet!.....Enjoy

This gives an idea of the nature of the route, with it's grassy ledges and loose rock.

Rooftop Lounge, Shangri-La Hotel. I just kept going with the Strangers thing -- these two, both Nevada transplants, weren't at the party, but they sat down next to me, so I just kept going with conversation and portraiture. And why not?

Continuing the three-letter acronyms - we had our church meeting this evening. They happen every two months, for prayer, planning, discussion etc.

I don't know this woman,

but in my life I have known

many like her.

Age has crept upon them...

The wrinkled strength of years

no longer hides the vulnerable soul

as it once did...

and life continues...

as beautiful as ever.

The military theme continues into the Guard Chamber, where the King’s gunsmith, John Harris, created the room’s architectural décor out of 2,850 pieces of arms and armor. This large and important collection of 17th and 18th-century weapons would have been a potent reminder of the real threat of war and rebellion in 1700.

The Guard Chamber displays a remarkable collection of weapons on the walls. Yeomen of the Guard would have been stationed at the door, checking courtiers were suitably dressed and behaved before allowing them into the Presence Chamber.

Here the Yeomen of the Guard kept watch to deter “mean or ordinary persons”;. You can still see their partisans, a type of pike.

Continuing on to Coroico, this is not the "road of death", but joins and resembles it. I stopped here as I had a sneaky feeling I had to drive on the left not the right, I was right! When asked why this was I was told so the trucks don't fall off the edge, but I said thought "what about the poor fellas coming the other way?" I think actually it's so those on the outside are driving likewise on the outside (their left) and so can see oncoming traffic sooner.,
