A historic brewery tin ... now hanging on the wall at Barley's of Greenville, South Carolina.
31 January 2008.

During Prohibition, Yuengling Brewery of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, turned to making ice cream. The Yuengling Dairy continued operations well past Prohibition, not closing until 1981. The brewery, per se, continues to thrive today.

Took the picture just to show that I'm actually working ;)
I'm still paring through the parts of my unsorted purchases, divvying up the parts into groups (minifig, two-by bricks/tiles, one-by bricks/tiles, SNOT bricks, etc.). Of course, groups like Technic have sub-groups upon sub-groups that will be a living nightmare to sort.
After all the purchases are sorted, they will be separated further by piece type, and then separated further by color.
I just took some Advil, so I'm good to go.
Continuing my reptile theme. Thanks to Pete (Bushcritters) and Amanda for ID.
This cute little lizard ran across the track in front of us. It looked slightly blue/green at the sides I thought but not so in these shots. I don't know if it can change colour or whether it was just a trick of the light.
It was hard to get a good shot because of grasses. I got quite close and even touched it's tail (to try and get it to move into a more open area but it didn't move. Then suddenly it bolted right across the track into longer grass. It was probably about 6 inches or so long.

Organizing for America, the national network of Obama supporters, is revving up support for healthcare reform with a bus tour that started in Phoenix. The "Health Insurance Reform Now" bus will make 11 stops between August 26, 2009 and when members of Congress return to Washington, hitting up Albuquerque, N.M., Denver, Raleigh, N.C., and Pittsburgh.
In this photo the Health Care Reform Now Bus moves onto the city streets of Phoenix to continue its long journey across the U.S., next stop, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The camera purge continues! Sigma 8-16mm lens for canon APS-C (I've tried it and it fits on full frame, but only covers the sensor down to about 13mm). Like new condition - $625
Continuing with the 'look-back' through this year ...
October :
Top left - I restored & lined a vintage hat - a home-made black velour, brimless 'percher' from the 40's or 50's ... it had never had a lining and now has a birth pink satin one. I also started a teal jumper for Hubby.
Top right - hand spun yarn - a batt from Ixchel plyed with some of her lace weight yarn.
Middle left & right - Back in the early 1980s I'd made my daughter a rag-doll with lots of clothes. The doll was much loved and had acquired stains and wounds. The clothes survived better. So I've made a new doll - with much better hair (have learnt a few skills since '82).
Along the bottom - a commission for crochet cricketers. It was a rush job, less than 6 days - I managed to make 4, tallest about 10" - 25cm. They were used and are on screen for 2 whole seconds ;-)

Jun 17 2017 - Continuing on from my previous photo of accepted new sources these are the ones I banned from my social media feed. I based it on a questionable level of factual sources (mixed or lower) and if people rated them mostly extreme in any way. This doesn't mean they are extreme but if it generates enough emotion for people to rate them extreme then it suggests to me they are baiting people opposing their views and trying to stir the pot. There's not always something wrong with that but I want some calm in my social media and don't personally see it as a means of bringing me intelligent analysis and understanding of the truth.. just a lot of screaming and yelling over issues that are often secondary or inflamed by other news sources.. so I just got rid of them all or listed them here to prevent me from accidentally adding them. The only exception I made was Mashable because I like all the fun non news stuff they publish.
Photos of Tokyo Monorail track-switching-work on April 10th continue.
This picture shows the four cranes at the western site. They are working as two pairs. Between the pairs is a steel-made long span track. The cranes do not remove it. It will be jacked up and moved sideways onto the scaffold in the blue net.
Unlike the long span track shown in "Old and New Long Steel Track", there is no orange jacks standing under it. The reason is this one is a straight track, and the other one is a curved track. If you lift up a straight track about several centimeters, it is enough to move it. You do not need large jacks here. On the other hand, several centimeters are not enough for a curved track, because the outer edge is longer than the interval between supports, and cannot go through it. You have to lift the track up until its bottom surface is above the top of the supports.

my crazy schedule pictorial [best if viewed in the set... cause there it's in order]: for an undetermined amout of time i've got a ridiculous schedule. doing a paper route and my regular job [plant accountant/company bitch]. thought i'd show you just how ridiculous this all is.
--
and you thought i was done!
this is from the earlier train stop. it was so damn hot i had my ac on 4. nice "windblown" effect.
---
you might wonder why i'm not asleep [though probably not]. it's cause i'm a genius. when i went to buy gas i realized i left my wallet at work. [i'm a genius]. so i had to go to the bank and get more money, and blah blah blah. here i am. i should mention this is now the second critical thing i'm without. the first thing i lost would be the cell. though i was less torn up about that.
