Kibibi continues to become more adventurous and grow more independent of her mother, Mandara. Only when she is nervous does she stay close to mom, or ride on Mandara’s back. Kibibi enjoys spending time with and rides on the back of her older sister Kigali or her older brother Kojo. Mandara will get involved if Kojo gets a little too rambunctious. She likes to make lots of noise, be that drumming on objects within the enclosures, or hitting the glass windows or the mesh. She has also learned to chest beat. Of course, she's not very indimidating. She uses her new talent mostly in play.

At just over two years of age, Kibibi weighs about 25 pounds. While she seems small for a gorilla her age, she finds plenty of food to eat out in the yard. She has also has learned to gather up her favorite foods and climb high in the indoor enclosures to enjoy her preferred treats. When Mandara steals some of her afternoon diet, she will turn around and steal some of her mom’s. When given enrichment items, she protects them for as long as she possibly can.

Kibibi has joined the Zoo's training program. She knows how to station train, and will sit in front of her colored frisbee waiting for her reinforcement. She has learned to present her hand and nose on cue, and will also sit, stand, and climb on cue. She enjoys training because she knows she gets lots of grapes. Kibibi had her first physical in March. She received vaccines and a clean bill of health. Read more.

Over the last year, Kibibi has grown more confident, continues to be playful, and her personality thrives. Her keepers enjoy a good play session with her, which helps develop a positive working relationship.

Cloudy winter continues, so this faint fuzz has only 3x20min L and 2x20min RGB. Needs a lot more to make any sense of the color channels, let alone details.

Continuing chat recently of departed dealers...

my crazy schedule pictorial [best if viewed in the set... cause there it's in order]: for an undetermined amout of time i've got a ridiculous schedule. doing a paper route and my regular job [plant accountant/company bitch]. thought i'd show you just how ridiculous this all is.

--

and you thought i was done!

this is from the earlier train stop. it was so damn hot i had my ac on 4. nice "windblown" effect.

---

you might wonder why i'm not asleep [though probably not]. it's cause i'm a genius. when i went to buy gas i realized i left my wallet at work. [i'm a genius]. so i had to go to the bank and get more money, and blah blah blah. here i am. i should mention this is now the second critical thing i'm without. the first thing i lost would be the cell. though i was less torn up about that.

Continuing my quest to visit as many Frank Gehry buildings as possible (and I count lunchrooms) during my lifetime, I made it to the Conde Nast cafeteria at 4 Times Square today.

These pictures are some of my favorite pictures.

The First Years Newborn to Toddler Reclining Feeding Seat Love this. Marilee has sat in this thing since she first came home from the hospital -Thanksgiving! Now that she is eating, she sits more upright and we have removed the pad just to make cleaning up even easier. You just can not beat the price. In our case, we really couldn't fit one more chair, so this was a huge space saver.

They ran out of space in 2004, and started over on a new wall.

Time to continue the making of the large street part 2. Did the gypsum work yesterday evening and this morning I could go outside (excellent weather to do outside, nice temperature, dry and cloudy!) to model the road.

I continue to be fascinated by the last of anything. This Goldenrod is the last one to have any color. All the other ones lost their color about 5 weeks ago.

As you can see, it is snowing.

my prayer to the sun god had fallen on deaf ears , but nothing that a good crop and a tweek on picnik couldnt fix .

The Port of Olympia has continued to be involved in the hydraulic fracturing (aka "hydro-fracking," or fracking) industry, seen here handling an incoming shipment of ceramic "proppants". The proppants are used in very deep wells, in the Bakken Oil Shale formation of North Dakota. Because of the extreme pressures in the wells (some are greater than 8,000 feet deep,) the proppants are used to prop open fissures (that have been blasted open by the hydraulic fracturing process.)

The practice of hydro-fracking has come under fire from social and environmental activists, based on several known harmful aspects of the industry, including local to global environmental impacts, harm to Native American communities, and harm to agricultural efforts.

Mainly jamming to Hooch's original music, which typically consists of lyrics about groping, pretty girls, and groping pretty girls.

We continue our ambitious mission to enable future changemakers, rooting environmental awareness deep into the educational system. This year we thought about something different, a gentle hand from the terminal shaking hand with the future generation.

The 3rd school in a row within the surrounding community, +400 Children were touched by the Go Green Educational Programs. +30 of young TM2 colleagues worked hard last 2 weeks to draw a big smile on the kids’ faces, the enthusiasm and energy was phenomenal.

This year we decided to bring extra care and raise the bar, so we got the idea to up-lift and flip three 40ft damaged containers to serve for educational purposes. The rest is just magic!

Then there were the empty coffee cups. I tried brown buttons, and brown glass flat beads...and I considered 2-part resins, and....none of it thrilled me at all. At this point it took a lot to "thrill me" on this project!
