Taken for the weekly challenge - Kingston's cathedral to consumerism.

Who will win?

We surround us with things we don´t need ,but we think they are important.

I am doing a cleaning process trying to throw away or recycle and giving away things that we don´t use.

I will thow away things that doesen´t give any joy as well...I need to be a free child again ready for new fresh energy..

Most difficult for me is to release me from so many things from my mum that passed away in 1999.

My energy is low at the moment but I am sure that soon I will have more force and time to spend as I want, that means also having a look at my friends photography.

Take care dear friends and enjoy your weekend.

Warm hugs!

I saw this and instantly thought "you need to take this photo for Michael (nettsu)... he has an addiction for Shopping Carts =D An addiction that could probably rival my love for the fire hydrants, power lines or even Dunnys!

At the mall, the trash accumulates.

Mister Curious, teething, crawling, grabbing, eyes wide-open, the world, his for the exploring.

Meet Jude.

My Karen Sue's family gathered for Thanksgiving at our home this year. The first time in a very long while. We usually spend Thanksgiving with my family and Christmas with Karen's. We changed that this year.

Our home was full. Over twenty of us enlivened the place, with the great niece and nephew being the center stage of our time and sources of great joy.

This little fellow is an explorer. I was reminded of just how fast a person could crawl when they put their mind to it.

This frame shows off the excellent eye-seeking autofocus of the Sony A6000 with a Sony lens. I'm just guessing at the framing, not looking through a viewfinder at all, and the Sony found Jude's eyes and locked on, wide open at f1.8. Amazing technology, that enables me to get shots by intuition.

Are we just rubbish?

is this what we choose to leave

are we just rubbish?

piles of crap,consumer garbage

are we just rubbish ?

turning beauty into grime ,oh so casually

are we just rubbish?

or just waste.transitory self gratification, vulgar vanity on a

roller coaster

are we just rubbish?

in the end does everything just get thrown away

are we just rubbish?

because as humans only we make it. Our residue is shameful

are we just rubbish?

our legacy of mess and toxins

are we just rubbish?

Do we care?

Trying to edit again this morning after a long night at the post office, where we were inundated with mail advertising just how early each store will open on Thanksgiving day. That means you can pull some poor store employee away from his precious family time so that you can get a toaster for 5.99 plus tax. Seems like a deteriorization of our better values.

"In a consumer society, social life is not about living, but about having; the spectacle uses the image to convey what people need and must have. Consequently, social life moves further, leaving a state of "having" and proceeding into a state of "appearing"; namely the appearance of the image."
