I took this Pictures while walking through the Elevated Walkway over Main Street, next to Kansas City Union Station, which is located near the intersection of Main Street and Pershing Road. The scheduled opening of the new streetcar line is late 2015.
En route to the Bring The Troops Home Vigil I'd happen upon a group of construction workers dismanteling a scenario that they had just constructed a few days before. This series 'is not about the butts' but is about those who make it happen. As a caterer many of these folks and I have crossed paths, many times.
My attempt is to document not only the event. But, also, the process. And as caterer and event coordinator I have much respect for those who as part of process 'make it happen.'
I have similar focus and respect when photographing police at protests and demonstrations.
It is not about the butt. But that is nice butt. At least from this perspective.

When I'd inquire of this potential subject if I may photograph him as part of my ongoing series "Men After Work" he said 'Yes'. When I'd ask where he was from he replied "... Prince Frederick MD!"

"Construction workers eating lunch on a beam" in real life! They said hi.
It made me laugh a little thinking of the famous image of the 1930's. Also, I will take this opportunity to link to one of my favorite Brooklyn Bridge pictures of all time: painters, in three-piece suits, posing in the air.

Citing the alarming rise in construction related deaths (in the last two years, 30 construction workers have been killed while on the job), hundreds of hardhat construction workers, along with elected officials and community leaders, gathered near New York City Hall on January 18, 2017, to demand the City Council to pass the Construction Safety Act, a series of bills that will provide for true professional training to improve the safety of all construction workers and the general public. Dozens of hardhat construction workers engaged on peaceful civil disobedience leading to multiple arrests.
