Here are a couple photos from a construction themed shoot I planned. I had really wanted to try this type of rim lighting and when I found two male friend/models I pounced on the opportunity to dress them up as construction workers!!! The best part of the shoot was watching them making a fool of themselves spread Canola Oil on themselves for the *shine*.

Strobist Info:

Two portable speedlights (Nikon SB25, Canon 580EXII) each positioned to the left and right, behind the model. Each speedlight is gobo'ed to protect the camera from lens flare. Key light is created with giant reflector in front of the models.

"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.. a time to tear down and a time to build....What do workers gain from their toil?" (Ecclesiastes 3)

This Mughals' era building is being put down, stone after stone, by a barehand worker.....

What do workers gain from their toil?.....

Don't you love waking up to the sound of heavy equipment right outside of your bedroom window at 6:15 on a Monday morning? Yeah, I love that.

While some of these construction workers are apparently done for the day, others continue to work in the brutal heat of a Phoenix summer... 108° that day, near the record-high temperature for the date.
