Update: `Seestadt Aspern´. (Vienna, Austria.)--02062015

The Indonesian Tsunami was tragic and devastating for the people of Indonesia. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed and millions were left homeless.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) offered their services and facilities and helped with the construction of new buildings as well as providing water, food, clothes and shelter for those who lost everything.

This was going on for the whole time I was in Japan, and I never found out why. It may still be going on now, for all I know.

This part of town has "old buildings". And the new ones are made to match the type of architecture. But then again what is old, what is new, what is refurbished. There is a fine line and mixture of all these. Of course preserving old materials is very difficult after centuries. Sometimes the building only look old, or "in the style of". But one comes upon old cellars and stone walls which are supposed to be old, and look it too. Apparently the historical and monuments department has strict and detailed procedures for these structures.

The site was Covent Garden Flower Market, now...
