65 MPH Construction
These are photos taken @ 65 MPH from my car. I am fascinated with big rigs
and bulldozers. Just as a art project I have been taking photos of the
Haleakala Highway construction site for several months now. I am moving down
the road and taking photos. Art is fun.

Construction Site:
I'm out of my element obviously, today it was raining, so I stayed in the area and found nothing worth shooting - until I did. On saturday nobody was working there and I was able to spend an hour looking at the textures and colors, the wear, signs of use and also the new pipelines laying around. Actually the colors are quite interesting. Of course I know it might be hard to understand the fascination of such hardware. I'm aware this is also a sign such "things" are nothing I usually deal with -- that might be the reason I see them as "objects" rather. This shows how much of one self really is when it comes to photography, even at the stage of choosing a subject. For example I wouldn't think of my desk as an photo oportunity, because I see it every day ...
This is either the new Hobson College or the new Infirmary. There was an astounding amount of construction going on on campus this weekend.
Why do I do what I do? So I can do things like this! Today we took students (freshmen and sophomores) from Oklahoma City Public Schools' Career Tech programs to a construction project site to show them what Allen Contracting and Shell Construction are doing on the BNSF Railroad Bridge on the Oklahoma City Boulevard. (old I-40, behind the Harkin's and U-Haul), then we went to Warren CAT and looked at equipment and heard about Career Opportunities. Warren CAT provided lunch for all, before loading back up and heading back to school.
