One of a series of photographs found in a Salinas area house at 1900 El Camino Real. The house was scheduled for demolition when the freeway was built through Salinas. It was an area where many people connected with the railroad lived. Photos 696-702 were placed together in a rough wooden frame.
According to Blaine P. Lamb of the California State Railroad Museum, Photos 700-702 may be construction near the steep Cuesta grade near San Luis Obispo. He thought S.L.O. on the shovel might refer to San Luis Obispo.

From the photographer's notes - "The station at National Bl. is in several stages of completion. I think the elevated platforms and canopy's are pretty much done. The lower entrance Lobby looks like there is more to do.
We noticed that the overhead is pretty much completed from Dunleer Dr. to just before the Westwood Station. Part of the East bound overhead is yet to be finished from Dunleer Br. West a short distance.
At Military Av. they were pulling rail sections up to the Sepulveda Station and Bridge. The elevator cages are complete at the Station."

This roundabout has been under construction for more than 14 months. It is approximately 65% complete.
Better days are ahead, at least for anyone who must go through this intersection on a daily basis.

Buildings will be adapted and repurposed for residential and commercial use to create Liberty–a modern and vibrant community hub in the heart of Lorton, Virginia. Liberty is located 25 miles from Washington, D.C. and 35 miles from Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Construction on the Canada Line is about to cross over Canadian Pacific’s O Yard. Construction of the Canada Line was completed in August of 2009, a few months before the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. Ironically the O Yard was once part of “the most advanced transportation system in the world” back when interurban cars roamed the area. Now, the O Yard struggles to survive while the Canada Line continues to gain ridership.
