The buildings located at 427-429 South Kansas Avenue have been determined to be Consitution Hall. It was constructed in 1855 and served as the Territorial Capital from 1861-1865 and the State Capitol from 1865-1869. Evidently, the original hall has been enclosed by the surrounding building facades and probably divided by a wall. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is being renovated into a museum.

The Old Constitution House located at Windsor in the U.S. state of Vermont is the birthplace of the Vermont Republic and the Constitution of the State of Vermont. A mid-18 century building built in a simple Georgian architectural style, the Old Constitution House was originally called the Windsor Tavern, and belonged to Elijah West at the time of the signing of the constitution. The house is a Vermont State Historic Site, and is administered by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. Windsor, Vermont
Some of the trees in Constitution Park have already shed their leaves, although the berries remain to provide a reddish hue. I've taken two other shots of this scene this year, each with a different seasonal view, so getting a photo of the same spot with snow on the ground will be the next step! This park is located in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Constitution Hill Cliff Railway, Aberystwyth. Tuesday 21 July 2015.
The cliff railway opened in 1896, it cost £60,000 to build and is in a cutting for its entire 798 ft. length. There are two tracks at 4ft 10ins gauge laid close together with a slight widening halfway to allow the two cars to pass. A zig-zagging footpath to the headlands summit crosses the railway on four girder and concrete bridges. The two wooden cars each originally seated 30 people; in 1989 they were both rebodied with prefabricated galvanised steel ones and marine ply panels. The seating capacity was reduced to 20 in four compartments; five passengers can also stand on each open platform. The west track car is No.1 and the east track car is No.2.

Just dug up my pocket constitution, signed by John and John from They Might Be Giants. On the next page, the Martinis.
A special Constitution Day program held Sept. 17, 2015, featuring attorney Evan Wolfson, who often is credited with being the founder and leader of the same-sex marriage movement. Wolfson, along with Pitt Law Professor Anthony Infanti. The discussion centered around the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges; the history of the effort to attain marriage equality for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community; and what legal and social challenges lie ahead for the community. PA Representative Dan B. Frankel who represents the 23rd District, also spoke with the panel and answered audience questions.

The USS Constitution is the Worlds oldest commissioned warship still afloat. One of 6 Frigates authorized under the Naval Armament Act signed by President George Washington on March 27, 1794, the 44-Gun Frigate USS Constitution was built in Boston and launched on October 21, 1797. She last fired a gun in combat in 1815, and was taken out of active service in 1855.
It was during a battle on August 19, 1812 with the British 38-gun frigate HMS Guerriere that the USS Constitution earned the nickname 'Old Ironsides', as one of the British sailors observed that their shots were bouncing off the hull as if it were clad in iron. It was during this same battle that Lt. William Bush, the first United States Marine Corps officer to die in combat at sea perished. He was shot on the USS Constitution's taffrail, while attempting to board HMS Guerriere.

The state gave Fort Point, on which Fort William and Mary stood, to the Federal government in 1791. In 1800, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was established upriver on Fernald's Island (now part of Seavey's Island) and the fort was rebuilt. Walls were doubled in height and new brick buildings added. Work was completed in 1808 and the defense renamed Fort Constitution. On July 4, 1809, an accidental explosion marred Independence Day celebrations at the fort, killing a number of soldiers and civilians. During the War of 1812 the fort was manned and expanded, Walbach Tower, a Martello tower, being built in 1814.
During the Civil War, Fort Constitution was rebuilt as a three-tiered granite fortress. However, advances in weaponry, particularly armored, steam-powered warships with heavy guns, rendered the masonry design obsolete before it was finished. In 1897, construction began on Battery Farnsworth, located under the hill on which Walbach Tower stands. Named for Brigadier General Elon J. Farnsworth, the installation included two 8-inch breech-loading rifles on disappearing carriages. Given back to the state in 1961, Fort Constitution State Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and is today open to the public.
