The view from the help desk before we moved it. A dim room with three monitors on one PC, a fourth monitor on the left that remote-controls another PC when you move the mouse over onto it, and a Mac behind. Usually someone's laptop behind or just to the right to be worked on too.
Answer the phone while documenting and solving problems, while fixing random walk-in problems! I'm glad we don't answer the phones initially now...

Bell Studios in 1983. This console was originally from PAMS jingle mill in Texas. One of the first Neumann boards in the US.(1964) I got it from Bob Schwarz who got it from Accurate Sound in Garland Texas. It was originally 18 in x 4out x 1 out. I rebuilt for 8 out with panning between odd and even outs and 8 to 2 monitoring. Magic Eye tubes for echo send metering.
We also had an Ampex 300-8 one inch machine and some 350 mono and stereo decks.

Wide shot of the console from the BBC tour, the new TARDIS console is much less messy, and instead of the clutter of small controls, we have lots of big ones and only a few small ones.
i do not own any of these images, they are property of the BBC
This playset is a MOC of the TARDIS from the BBC show Doctor Who--made from LEGO. There are better designs out there but this one was developed with two goals: 1) to contain the console inside the TARDIS and 2) that the inside would be larger than the outside. Note that the time column spins. The minifig was based on the 10th Doctor.
