MONTGOMERY, Alabama (March 23, 2016) – Against the backdrop of the Alabama River at the Union Station Train Shed, 300 conservation district supervisors, conservation partners, and students gathered to hear the Alabama Soil & Water Conservation Committee (SWCC) launch a new initiative to continue its mission of conserving Alabama’s natural resources: Conserve Alabama.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park conserves and reclaims the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio's Cuyahoga and Summit counties.
The 32,572-acre (50.9 square mile) park is administered by the National Park Service, but within its boundaries are areas independently managed as county parks or as public or private businesses. Cuyahoga Valley was originally designated as a National Recreation Area in 1974, then redesignated as a national park 26 years later in 2000, and remains the only national park that originated as a national recreation area.
Cuyahoga Valley is the only national park in the state of Ohio and one of three in the Great Lakes Basin. Cuyahoga Valley also differs from the other national parks in the U.S. in that it is adjacent to two large urban areas and it includes a dense road network, small towns, and public and private attractions.

A's science homework was go obtain our household's water bill and see what the monthly usage average is. And then as a family we had to plan how to conserve water for the rest of....our family life!
So here is our daughter who called the town meeting and talking about ways to conserve water.
(we're already doing a lot this)
-shutting off water while soaping dishes, or when taking showers
-only run the dishwasher or washer with full loads
-only go to commercial car washes
All four of us signed a paper to live by these...#scienceteacherlovesconservationhomework

Belize Botanic Gardens (BBG) conserves 45 acres of native and exotic plants growing in the Cayo District of western Belize, directly south of San Ignacio and directly east of Benque Viejo del Carmen. The garden is in a valley on the banks of the Macal River, surrounded by the Maya Mountains.

So they put 12 labels and paper lid thingys (sorry for the technical jargon) in the gift kit but only enough rustic twine to go round two jars?
The jam's nice - a bit drippy but after the solid marmalade I made earlier in the year that is rather a relief!

Ross Craig (1926-2012) was a local historian born in Stockton and dedicated much of his life promoting and conserving the history of Stockton, NSW. He possessed a wealth of knowledge about the suburb and was a founding member of the Stockton Historical Society and co-editor of its magazine. Pat Craig supported her husband’s passion for history, and together they made a great contribution to the Stockton and Newcastle communities. We thank the Craig Family and Stockton Historical Society who have kindly given Cultural Collections at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, access to the collection and allowed us to publish the images. Thanks also to Vera Deacon for her liaison in attaining this important collection.

Some days ago, watching news comment on fuel price rise, including "China and India increase their demands for fuel", I remembered this shot. I took it on arrival - saw banner from taxi and after accomodation decided to go out and snap it. Here comes explanation about blur - after we came out of hotel, around corner we were offered "drugs, womans, girls, kids" by several people, all actively trying to make a deal. After short run we arrived on location and my hands weren't able to hold camera steadily.
