"CONCEPT"
Noun
1. an idea or thought, esp. a generalized idea of a thing or class of things; abstract notion
2. a. an original idea, design, etc.; conception
b. a central or unifying idea or theme
Word origin
conceptus
Webster’s New World College Dictionary
Conceptual art is a form of art in which the concept is paramount to the visual or sensory components of the finished artwork. This type of art emphasizes the importance of an idea or concept over technique and aesthetic, largely used to express the abstract. It emerged as a movement in the early 1960s reaching into the mid-1970s. Conceptual art can look or be nearly anything the artist decides. Unlike other forms of art, it is not defined by physical forms, but rather the foundation of a concept that serves as the engine of creating art.

Christmas days are coming, they won't be the same as other years, but let's always keep the bright spirit.
Dark is my new collection for Kustom 9.
Find your phrase of the universe on the back of the panels

Concepts are useful to discribe the world, but they can be dangerous when using them in a bad way, as don Quijote de la Mancha. He was out of reality, but maybe we are also out of reality when we see don Qijote where he is not !
The shattering effect comes from shooting vertically with panorama format set on my iPhone.
A commemorative plaque and a fresco in the 20th arrondissement of Paris refer to the Manouchian group.
It was painted by Popof in 2012.
Missak Manouchian (1 September 1906 – 21 February 1944) was a French-Armenian poet and a communist activist. An Armenian Genocide survivor, he moved to France from an orphanage in Lebanon in 1925. He was active in communist Armenian literary circles.
During World War II, he became the military commissioner of FTP-MOI, a group consisting of European immigrants, including many Jews, in the Paris region which carried out assassinations and bombings of Nazi targets. According to one author, the Manouchian group was the most active French Resistance group.
Manouchian and many of his comrades were arrested in November 1943 and executed by the Nazis in Fort Mont-Valérien on 21 February 1944. He is considered a hero of the French Resistance.
Once hospitalised at the Foch hospital I realised that my window gave onto Mont Valérien. I felt like I was lucky to be free despite the unfortunate circumstances around my medical condition.

So this is the concept design for my SHIP to come, hopefully...
The first I tried a few years back wasn't planned enough and the different sections didn't flow nor hold well together. The second one was better but became increasingly difficult to finish due to a complex 3 decks accessible interior...
Now this one is simpler in volume, but I wanted to try using angled panels and a more radical color blocking (even if I still prefer colorful ships, so it's not all grey and white).
The accessible areas (minifig scale) will be limited to the upper deck, with the exception of the access hatch and cargo bay. I don't know how long it will be but I'm aiming at 100 studs for the main panels only (without thrusters and front sensors).
Around the main picture are early designs (upper right and lower left corner) and concept for the technic frame (upper left corner).
By luck, I'll be close to a Lego store next week, I hope to get more greebles and tiles in the appropriate colors.
Tell me if you have suggestions, I want it to be good! And I'm gonna finish this one! Well, first I need to start...
43parts
The part used for the seat is not my idea , I know my mate Kyubi used that part for one of his cool bike but I can't remember where I've seen this technic for the very first time before that....sorry
Edit : I knew it ! my mate 74louloute also used the cloak to make a seat for a bike
Check theirs creations (Link: I've mentioned them on this photo)

I recently got the LEGO® Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded; and with it I got the new White Boba Fett figure.
By what I understand Boba Fett was originally going to be some sort of elite stormtrooper. However as the plot changed they made him a bounty hunter instead. I wonder if the Star Wars VII character: Captain Phasma was inspired by the original idea of Boba Fett.
Hope you enjoy this shot! :D

The matte painting (which can be translated with painting backgrounds) is a technique used mainly in film used to allow the representation of landscapes or places otherwise too costly or impossible to reconstruct or reach directly.

A concept Art rendition of what a more private Mach 2 Jet could have looked like in the late 70ies. Powered by 3 Turbines and seating 10 passengers on a record speed trip between local airports.
This is purely fictional and the background is very poorly hand drawn ;)
"A 1969 station concept. The station was to rotate on its central axis to produce artificial gravity. The majority of early space station concepts created artificial gravity one way or another in order to simulate a more natural or familiar environment for the health of the astronauts. After returning from a micro-gravity environment, astronauts find their muscles weak because they have not been using them. Long-term exposure to micro-gravity could generate long-term health problems for astronauts who do not utilize their muscles. This is why there are exercise machines on space shuttles and on the International Space Station. It was to be assembled on-orbit from spent Apollo program stages."
Obviously, the above is a relatively contemporary ‘composition’ and surprisingly okay. I wonder what the original was though. Although this isn’t, some other original printings must’ve been captioned…maybe.
The approaching ferry? capsule looks like an Apollo Command Module with a Mercury Recovery Compartment ‘appendage’. The space station actually appears to have the same spacecraft docked at both ends. In fact, the one on the right looks to be undocked. And I’m guessing the ring of ‘lights’, near the base of each are windows/portholes. If so, they’re good-sized craft.
This has long been an oft-reproduced & iconic rotating space station concept. I’ve always loved it…other than those lame motion/movement lines.
Thanks to James Vaughan’s posting (linked to below), this is a GAEC design/proposal, which helped to confirm that it’s the work of Craig Kavafes. A WIN!!! 👍👍👍
This, the following linked designs & my other linked Flickr photo below - based on the photo identification number - look to have been part of the same family/series of contractor concepts, proposals, etc., solicited/entertained by NASA ca. 1969:

Both above credit: the excellent Aerospace Projects Review website
In fact and in confirmation of such; in January - February 1969, NASA Administrator Thomas O. Paine oversaw the creation of a Space Station Task Force, a Space Station Steering Group, and an independent Space Station Review Group. These bodies prepared a Phase B Space Station Study Statement of Work (SOW), which NASA released to industry on 19 April 1969. So, I'm pretty sure these works are some of the responses/submittals to that SOW.
"The SOW solicited proposals to study a 12-man Space Station, the design of which would eventually serve as a building block for a 100-man Earth-orbital Space Base. The 12-man Station was to reach orbit on a Saturn V rocket in 1975 and to remain in operation for 10 years...
Grumman, North American Rockwell (NAR), and McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Company (MDAC) submitted proposals in response to the SOW."
The above is a combination of paraphrasing & cut/paste from David S. F. Portree's superlative (as always) article at his wonderful "No Shortage of Dreams" blog. The entire informative content at:
