gamescom 2011 in Cologne.
The world's largest trade fair and event highlight for interactive games and entertainment
Couldn't resist this blue at the fair in Tilburg :-)
Based on the classic computergame: Tetris.
Another classic : www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuaW4mWeJ88
Video originally directed by Michel Gondry. (The texture for the cliff top is altered but originally from: joewilliamss.blogspot.com - everything else is my creation.)
"It's time to go global! Once our construction worker minion, Dominic, dusts off the old control panel and installs a timeclock, our evil organization will be able to do missions anywhere in the world!"
When fully manned, the control room will serve as the mission headquarters for all of our operations off the island, and will even be able to slow the Forces of Justice from approaching our secret hideout lair! The control panel gathers information from geo regions, and the memory bank stores the information for a useful duration.
*The floor is just not quite up to par: the spacing is off and aesthetically doesn't fit within the 6x6 stud modular grid. It might look better without the red "grout" lines, and would then certainly fit the grid! We'll see.
Furniture to build: control panel, time clock, control station, communications array, stock market watchdog, schematics station, and a "big screen." That's a lot, but we'll need it to insure complete world domination!

Oooh was this fun!!! A lot of the basic frameworks you guys have seen me using should hopefully all work great! It's amazing how much this project is actually starting to feel like "Evil Genius!"
Oh and I'm definitely going to need to be painting some pieces if I want a deep desert-night sky colored floor like they have in the game.
Those "doorways" or beams which cross the entry foyer were really just slapped together, and will eventually get some more attention.
More to the Inner Sanctum coming next week: this time, furniture!

Here's Jena's take on an original character from the setting of the computer and video game "Fallout 3," the best-selling post apocalyptic rpg.
This cake was lots of fun to make!
When your customer is a 7 year old boy who knows this games graphics inside out...the models need to be spot on! I really hope he'll love it.
I used the angry birds computer text as an idea for the number '7' making it look like it was made from planks of wood!
All the models are 100% edible and hand modelled from fondant icing.
This is an 8" vanilla sponge cake.
I also made some co-ordinating party bag biscuits/favours in an Angry Birds theme.
All hand modelled from fondant icing.
