This is the Wenge inlay in The Return Desk. It looks like the leg underneath passes through the desk and ends at the surface. I made many wedge like shapes and put them together like the shudder of a camera.

My first shot from my Voigtländer Bessa R4m, showing the box it came in, the film can the film came in, and various items on my computer desk. Yes, my computer desk (and room!) really is this messy. Taken in Albany, CA by a Voigtländer Bessa R4M with a Nokton 40mm ƒ 1.4 lens on Bergger BRF 400+ film. Comecially developed...
As with all my scans of negatives/slides: Scanned by an Epson V700 scanner with the Epson software, (the V700 also comes with Silverlight software; I don't use it...) and the resulting scan run through Paint Shop Pro X2 for dust elimination and final setting of brightness/contrast (second part not done on this shot, though...)
the leg on the right is a wire chase and the square tube that the monitor is mounted on is hollow - also running the wires from the monitor.

The audio equipment rack is built into a short run of Jatoba cabintets running under the countertop. We put a shallow pencil drawer above the audio rack. The whole project was so far from standard that we decided we could put the drawer pulls in creatively rather than the usual centered locations.

My computer monitor, (a BENQ GW2450) with a screenful of Milkyway@home work units for one of my GPU's (there are two in this computer...) to crunch for Berkeley Open Interface for Network Computing. (BOINC for short) Taken in Albany, CA by a Voigtländer Bessa R4M with a Heliar 15mm ƒ 4.5 lens on Bergger BRG 400+ film.
My GPU's (Nvidia GTX770's...) fly through these - what you see here will only take about 2-2.5 hours...
Third of a series of three with the three different Voigtländer/Cosina lenses I have for the R4M/R3M, (which I'm going to get as a second body...) all taken from the same distance...
Screen on the upper left is used for two different computers (than the one on the main monitor...) that are off-frame lower left. They're on, (and crunching!) but the screen goes dark after 4 hours... Above that is my tribute to my late father, with his medals and others of his WW2 artifacts.
Note that this is the computer and monitor used to upload to Flickr®, even though the pictures are stored on a different, networked, computer ...
