My old dell M1210 (3 years old now) has slowed down to a crawl. For the past few weeks it has been freezing every time it tries to run multiple applications, such as anti-virus, backup, spotify, etc.
This has been getting on my nerves now, so I spent a few hours today changing computers temporarily until my new Sony S 13" with the Intel Core i5 chip arrives. I can't wait!
I think together they may have equaled 200mhz, but they worked great as web servers and file servers at the time. They both ran Windows 98 like no other.

March 16, 2010--Will I ever stop taking pictures that involve my laptop keyboard? Not as long as I keep spending my days and evenings writing papers.
Since I have made so many great friends through Flickr I wonder if this will help Kita and the temple cat make friends?
We head up to Hamilton’s office and immediately I’m put off a little. Compared to the lower levels where I hang out at, where it’s mainly stark white hallways and a couple labs, this place looks like the set of The Office. Workers type away at laptops, chatting with each other and drinking coffee. Everything’s colorful and bright, and normal. It’s a bit weird, to be perfectly honest. Cait stops me at a door that’s covered with a mirror material. She knocks on it and a muffled voice yells at us to come in. She pushes open the door and we walk in.
The entire room is covered in blue and white wallpaper, with a huge computer attached to one wall. An older man scrubs his beard while he’s looking at images of different STAR product designs and data charts. He turns around and smiles.
“Ah, Doctor Snow. I was wondering if I’d see your face today. Spending too much time down in the dungeons, methinks. And who’s this?”
“This is Jamie Allen, Professor Hamilton. She’s a junior forensics analyst, and has been helping me and Cisco out downstairs with certain commission work for the few months.”
“Pleasure to meet you, kid,” he says to me and grins, outstretching his hand to me. Hesitantly, I reach out and grab it. We shake, his grip seeming to tighten slightly. Something’s off. His eyes look over to the images again and sighs.
“Look at this. Some of the greatest innovations to grace mankind, forged at this very company. And yet, we’re just barely scraping the list of the most recognizable corporations. Lexcorp, Wayne, Queen… they’re all being paraded around like the best things ever, and yet we’ve made more contributions to the scientific field in recent years than most. Why do you think that is, Ms. Allen?”
“Is it because… they’re more multipurpose? We’re mainly genetics and engineering, while those other ones have multiple branches and departments.”
“Correct. That’s why I have plans on extending our reach. We currently have a branch in Metropolis and another in Detroit. However, I feel we have the potential to expand our expertise and become a global power.”
Global power? Interesting. The more he talks, the more I’m realizing just how strange these designs are. I recognize a few, like the material that Cis used in my suit and energy storage units. But there’s other things too, like weaponized armors, semi-autonomous tank-like machines… a treadmill…
“Professor Hamilton, how’d you become the head of STAR again? I don’t quite remember that origin story,” I ask, my eyebrow slightly arching. He stares me down and coughs.
“The CEO from the beginning, Harrison Wells, stepped down to due complications and moved on to work at Mercury Labs. Hunter Zolomon replaced him, but because of his recent death I have come to fill the role. The board thought that my skills would be best to help revitalize this place. And in this day and age, we need it.
“Look around,” he barks as he hits a command into his keyboard, replacing the designs with images, videos, and newspaper articles of different heroes. Me, Hal, Thea, Arthur, the Gotham Batman… he’s been keeping track of us.
“Everywhere we go, we see these metahumans. Somehow, they’ve become heroes. Gods, even. How is this? The world needs and deserves answers. That’s why we’ve begun an extensive search into metahuman genetics. With the revitalized Prometheus Program, STAR is going to unlock the secrets of their powers, and hopefully find out how to use it to help mankind. These metas hold their powers to themselves, with no explanation. Now we can be the heroes of the story. And I want you to help, Jamie.”
He looks right into my eyes, and I lock up. He knows. He knows I’m the Flash. I have no clue how, but he does. This is what was happening before. STAR looking into metahumans. That’s how Snart became truly evil, and they probably ruined the lives of others too. I shake my head and grit my teeth, staring Hamilton down.
“I will never, ever help you,” I growl. He stares at me for what feels like hours, like a predator staring down its prey. Then, he simply shrugs.
“Eh, that’s fine. I have all the personnel I need. You can go now.”
I grab Caitlin, pull her downstairs, and explain what I felt in there. She agrees and explains how she’s had doubts about Prometheus since its conception. The, she warns me to be careful of zooming around the place now if he has doubts on my identity. We both agree to leave it be for now, then head down to wait for Cisco, who’s bringing over the final finished parts of my suit.

Hamilton groans and slams his fist on the desk. A blur sound behinds him alerts him to the presence of his least favorite person.
“Did you tell her, Hamilton?”
“No, I didn’t. She doesn’t know about the true purpose of Prometheus, and she doesn’t know that I know her secret. I believe she has suspicions, though.”
“Why, of course she does. Jamie’s a clever girl. Just like her dad was. Don’t worry about her though, Hammy. I’ll have her taken care of soon enough. All I need to do is get Zoom under control, and we can end this once and for all. Then, you can do whatever you want and no one would be able to stop you.”
“Good. Th-thank you, Thawne.”
“No problem, old friend.”
With this, the man faded back out of existence, causing Hamilton to breathe a sigh of relief. All of his problems were about to be over.

Hey, look at that! A new issue. Sorry it's been a while, I've been busy with school and family stuff. Hopefully I'll have time to put out a new Rebel issue next week, but I don't know lol. Hope you guys enjoy this one!
On top of the monitor here, you see a stuffed, toon mouse (sort of a computer joke), a beanbag-critter called "Crashly the y2K Bug," and a beanbag-critter shaped like a computer.
Throw the "Y2K Bug" against a surface, and you hear the digitized sound of glass breaking. Throw the little computer against a surface, and you hear either the glass-breaking sound, or a voice saying "Bye-bye files!" :D
Next to the monitor, there, is a bunch of old magazine-folders containing old Writer's Digest magazines from back in the 1990s or so, with some old software manuals on top of that.
