A misty morning captured from a hilltop in Dorset, looking at the village of Compton Abbas surrounded by rolling mist with St. Mary's church spire and a few trees above the mist...
Making use of the longer lens on the Sony crop sensor camera to get in tighter so as not to have to crop the image during processing and reduce the image size.
Captured at 150mm I would have needed around 225mm on the full frame which one day I will get around to purchasing.
On the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at Compton this stunning reflection this evening. On our Lockdown permitted activity.
Compton Castle is a fortified manor house in Devon, a few miles from Torquay.
Origiinally the manor house was built in the mid-14th century. The fortress-like front was added about 1520. Although some of the building was in ruins by the 18th century, restoration of the central hall was completed during the 1950s prior to coming into the hands of the National Trust. It is listed as a Grade 1 set of buildings.
A Grade I listed Robert Adam mansion set in Capability Brown landscaped parkland, the house is now an art gallery...well worth a visit, a lovely place to spend a few hours....inside and out!
