White Knob Mining District
Significant copper deposits were first discovered in the White Knob Mountains in 1879 and by 1884, the White Knob Area was being developed into one of the largest copper producers in Idaho. The tram towers here, from the early 1900s, were part of an aerial tram system in the White Knob Mining District used to carry ore over four miles down the mountain to the smelter and blast furnaces from the Empire Mine to the railroad. This historic mining complex contains a railroad grade, industrial mining buildings and features, adits and ruins of miner’s residences. Recent work has restored the tram towers and railroad trestle.

The agonizing days brought by toothache and other dental problems are already numbered for Tagumenyos because now there is a brand new solution tendered to them that comes in wheels.
The Local Government of Tagum with the City Health Office recently inaugurated its multi-million worth Mobile Dental Vehicle in its bid to assist its constituents who have long endured tooth pains and other dental dilemmas especially those who are residing in distant areas of the city.
Mayor Allan Rellon personally led the blessing of the dental health bus together with Monsignor Ulysses Perandos of the Diocese of Tagum, Vice Mayor Geterito Gementiza and some members of the 7th City Council during the December convocation program of the local government unit.
The dental bus, with the value of 3,950,000 million pesos, is complete with standard and special vehicular features and dental equipment such as two sets of fully motorized dental chairs, a silent-type compressor, one ultrasonic scaler, pressure and temperature gauges and other dental paraphernalia. It also has a lavatory and a water tank that are a necessity for dental operations.
The Department of Health granted the bus to the LGU Tagum in support to the latter’s vision of attaining full medical modernization in terms of facilities and equipment.
The said vehicle will be used in the conduct of medical outreach and dental health awareness campaign of the Dental Division of the City Health Office across the 23 barangays of Tagum, particularly in the far-flung puroks and sitios.
Meanwhile, the city government has expressed its gratitude to DOH for endowing the said mobile dental vehicle and vowed to handle the equipment in the most efficient manner.
LGU Tagum also guaranteed to continue and improve its medical programs especially those that concern on dental health through the EAGLE WINGS development thrust of the current administration, to give every Tagumenyo a reason to genuinely smile.
