Gli Zombi sono un duo synthwave americano di Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sono composti da Steve Moore al basso e sintetizzatori e Anthony Paterra alla batteria.
Il gruppo sfrutta diversi loop per creare composizioni stratificate. Hanno partecipato a tour con Don Caballero, Isis, Orthrelm, The Psychic Paramount, Daughters, Red Sparowes, These Arms Are Snakes, Trans Am, and Goblin.
Steve Moore è stato membro dei Microwaves, una band metal/no-wave di Pittsburgh, ed è stato in tour con i Red Sparowes. Anthony Paterra è un ex-membro dei The 1985, sempre di Pittsburgh.
Il nome della band deriva dall'edizione italiana del film Zombi di George A. Romero (in originale Dan of the Dead). La colonna sonora della versione italiana era eseguita dai Goblin, che sono stati una forte influenza per gli Zombi.
After sifting the fine stuff, the slightly coarser material gets tipped into the 'muck bucket'. If some falls on the ground, it just goes back into the compost pile. Perhaps some day I'll make a more efficient 'catching system'.
Fungi in my Compost Bin. I had in that compost bin, rotting Malay Apples, small tropical fruit. These fungi were growing and I actually had my head in this bin to get these closeups. It sounds gross but they are small and I had to get close to get the macros, and the bin did not smell. LOL. I sifted the unfinished compost from bin #2 leaving the completed compost behind. I then placed the uncompleted compost and some worms into bin #1 with the other unfinished compost.

The Slaty-backed Gull is native to northeast Asia. It is a rare accidental to the continental U.S., where it is most often spotted on the west coast. So it was really exciting when one turned up not far from where we live in Pennsylvania. Despite five days of searching (among tens of thousands of far-off gulls) we never found it. Then a Slaty-back (who appeared to be the same individual) was found in Ithaca, New York. We made the drive up there and saw him at last!

Implantado próximo à Represa Billings, o parque fica dentro da Área de Proteção Ambiental Bororé-Colônia. O projeto tem como objetivo preservar o patrimônio ambiental da cidade a partir da aquisição de áreas verdes potenciais e estratégicas, preservar e enriquecer a biodiversidade da cidade e proteger a represa, implantando um sistema de gestão adequado, dentro da Operação Defesa das Águas.
Apresenta vegetação composta por áreas ajardinadas e eucaliptal com sub-bosque onde foi realizado plantio de mudas de árvores. Destacam-se aroeira-mansa, caá-açu, cabuçu, camboatá, cedro, cuvitinga, embaúba-vermelha, guaçatonga, jerivá e tapiá-guaçu.
Sua fauna é bastante heterogênea com 109 espécies, sendo uma de aranha, 16 de borboletas (incluindo exemplares cujas asas lembram pedaços de veludo preto), além de sapo-cururu, lagarto-teiú, gambá-de-orelha-preta e 90 espécies de aves. Ressalta-se a presença de frugívoros de grande porte como jacuaçu e tucano-de-bico-preto, que consistem em importantes dispersores de sementes. Garças, socozinhos, biguás e mergulhão-caçador alocam-se nas margens da Represa Billings em busca de peixes e larvas. É também nesse ambiente que vive o escandaloso carão e o cauteloso gavião-caramujeiro, que se alimentam basicamente de caramujos do gênero Pomacea. Os brejos oferecem refúgio para saracuras, jaçanãs, ananaís e aos passarinhos piá-cobra, curutié e joão-botina-do-brejo. Na mata ocorrem espécies como pula-pula, bico-chato-de-orelha-preta, caneleiro-preto e as endêmicas de Mata Atlântica: pica-pauzinho-verde-carijó, arredio-pálido, tiriba-de-testa-vermelha e saracura-do-mato. Dentre os rapinantes, destaca-se o acauã, que tem o hábito singular de emitir seu canto onomatopéico noite adentro.
Oferece também atividades regulares de educação ambiental e trilhas monitoradas e é um dos parques que fazem parte do Programa de incentivo permanente à arborização.

So what's a "compost toilet"??? Just think of it as a "kitty litter box" :-)
Compost toilets have many environmental and financial advantages: they help conserve water, they help reduce the possibility of sewage or groundwater pollution, they eliminate the costs associated with maintaining sewers and septic systems, and their end product is actually beneficial for the environment (compost) instead of polluting.
My hubby's mom lives with us and she enjoys helping in the yard. Here she is having a lovely time watering. A nice Sunday afternoon.
