Moat and ramparts at Gamlebyen (The Old Town) in Fredrikstad, Norway

Today, I wanted to eat dried fruits, but, I don't understand, that didn't work !

My 52 project - Week 9/52.

Excerpt from the plaque:

Lamentation by Quinten Metsijs

In the early sixteenth century, Quentin Metsijs was widely considered Antwerp’s most prominent painter. It will come as no surprise then that the prestigious carpenter’s guild turned to him to commission a new altarpiece. Metsijs undoubtedly fulfilled the expectations of his patrons with this painting full of exquisite light and colour. But they were not the only ones to be delighted by this painting. In 1577, King Philip II of Spain and the Queen of England, Elizabeth I, declared their respective intention to acquire the painting. The guild was inclined to accept one of the proposals. Maerten de Vos, however, managed to convince the Antwerp town council to acquire the painting and keep it in Antwerp.

The composition clearly draws on Rogier van der Weyden’s Descent of the Cross.

Just coming back from hiking to get that view (www.flickr.com/photos/133095026@N06/30660526658/in/album-...), we're pretty beaten up.

All we want is to pitch our tents and enjoy a quick dinner while the clouds are still just threatening. It won't last.

In the middle of the night, the wind started to show its power.

As we were all sleeping in tents designed to face all sorts of weather, one after the other, we all woke up. The tent I was personnaly sleeping in was moving so much and making so much noise that I sure thought that it was going to break or fly away as soon as we would have left it to find a better cover.

It didn't. But it didn't stop us from finish our night in the car either. 6 people sleeping in a 7 persons car, keep your elbows to yourself.

And at least, we were safe.

This Ruddy Turnstone was in a group foraging on a pebbly beach on the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, southern Mexico. It is showing the characteristic behaviour of turning over stones to locate food.

A dead shell was floating. Ripples were formed in the wind. I thought it would be a nice composition!

A photo from my old album.

"Composition with Ballerina" is a beautiful surrealist work.

A poetic surrealism. Happy. Colorful. Contemplative.

In it we can see a ballerina with smooth movements surrounded by balloons that seem to accompany her on an infinite stage.

A scene that awakens our imagination and brings us feelings.

ARoS, one of Northern Europe’s largest museums, is renowned for its impressive collection of modern and contemporary art. Its most iconic feature, however, is the Rainbow Panorama on the roof, designed by artist Olafur Eliasson. This circular, colored glass walkway offers a stunning 360-degree view of Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city. As visitors walk through the rainbow spectrum, the shifting interplay of light and shadow creates dramatic contrasts, making it an ideal setting for capturing silhouettes and bold compositions in photography - Aarhus, Denmark
