A composited image of the Seattle Slam, our local wheelchair rugby team. The team was brought into the studio and shot individually, using a simple three-light setup at the Vecta Studio & Gallery in Georgetown, WA.

This is a screen shot of myself working in Maya to create special effects. A simple sphere was created and a shader was designed and applied to make the sphere look like fire. The resulting image was composited to create:

Composite of two photos. The mouth is from one and the eyes from another. She would smile and close her eyes, or she would open her eyes and stick out her tongue.

Compositing [two images]: create two images of an alternate reality. The space should be continuous (not like collage), but you've manipulated the scene to create a seamless alternate universe of some kind

My first try at composite imaging:)

I think it turned out pretty well.

Here is the first composite attempt. As a composite, the only part that is composited is the black foreground. As far as subject matter, it does still pertain to the desert foreground in front of a sunset, with the wild aspect being shown with the silhouettes of the plants. The concept fell short because there isn't a great visualization of the passage of time. Going back to the foreground still being layered, I think this actually benefited the photos a lot because I accidently has the ISO really high, so layering the photos helped to reduce the grain. Lastly, the sky replaced sunset makes the photo more visually appealing although not tying into the composites.

Stegasaurus staredown! I think there's the beginning of a volcano off to the left there. We didn't go inside because we were on the way to the airport but there were what looked like velociraptors on the big entrance to the Bob's world building.

Composite where I put myself in with an image of MIA... the scale is a bit off, but for two shots with drastically different lighting, it turned out alright.

Okay, so sometimes the pics from the back seats of cars don't really turn out. Okay, most of the time, they don't turn out. Window glass+tint+lens+IS(only helpful when you're NOT solidly holding the camera, I've found, people who hold well often get soft images from IS, just my experience)+speed+vertical motion, etc., etc. But This one turned out okay--it was a misty morning scene. Only problem was, well, it was nice and calm and, frankly I'm tired of boring images. It was nice, don't get me wrong, and some day I may put it up by itself. But I have lately developed a craving for color and it just seemed, well, wrong to bump up the contrast. And I've been thinking about compositing again for a while. A couple hundred thousand images ought to provide a bit of compositing fodder, right? Well, here's one I really like. Don't know why, I think it has to do with the magenta and green together, floating above a fuzzy field with invading trees. Whadaya know, Nebraska!

Some composite I did of some buddies of mine.
