Poem.

Sometimes, just sometimes, reality can exceed imagination.

Rarely, a moment is witnessed that requires a stern pinch, just to check that we are compos mentis.

Yes, and here……………. is such a moment.

So perfectly balanced is this scene, that maybe, it is all a dream.

That golden glow in the sky and the gently lapping bay

accompanied by the scream of scavenging gulls.

The stark, crisp, jet-black silhouettes of tree, yachts, cottages and stepped hills.

Even the seagulls on the shore are statuesque, as if mesmerised.

But no, this is Plockton at sunrise and we smile with admiration.

I would wager that there are few places in heaven or earth that exceed the perfection of this place.

Only a privileged few venture this far, but those that do……

…… don’t forget!!!

Following the flowering progress of my orchid plant ...

Letting the picture turning few degrees diagonally, I like the shape and the result of the compo filling half the space of the black background. No big edit here, except a bit of sharpening the contrast, stem chopped/shaded and my watermark.

My next up-loads will be the photos I took today with all the three stems of this bountiful orchids plant in total blossom and 27 flowers all open.

This week was rather hectic and surprising - no internet connection and time. So no promises - when I will be fully flickring again you´ll simply see it ;-)

Spent this weekend at Ire&Vojta´s cottage and we had a blast. Thank you .martine for doing a living tripod ;-) I did all the setting and compo stuff, used the remote - Martin just hold my camera - which is practically a SP, isn´t it?!!! ;-)

With three hours between Wednesday's targets there was ample time to grab a bite to eat and reconnoitre a few locations in the Millom area for future reference.

That done I returned to one of them, Aggie's Lonning, for a go at the 14.37 BIF - CAR on the front of which I knew was 37402.

Located on the opposite side of this stretch of line is Millom's "down" distant semaphore and I wanted to include it in the compo' for this one.

Unfortunately the electrically operated signal's attendant grey boxes are on this side, their unwelcome intrusion ruining any attempt to incorporate it.

I had to make do with a mile-post and a few snow-capped south western fells to generate something extra.

Fortunately a couple appeared walking toward me and stopped to take a look as the train approached and they add a tiny bit of something to the composition.

Not only was it bloody cold here an hour before sunset but a bank of cloud was approaching from the west, providing a nervy few moments as 402 seemed to take an age to trundle around the coast from Kirby in Furness.

Within 15 minutes the sun was gone from here.

Saw a documentary about elephants - marvelous creatures.

Next week it's break and I'm so excited about leaving this dull weather. Skiing and photographing in the alps sounds a lot better than walking around in Stockholm in half-melted snow and rain, if you ask me...

Thank you for watching,

Finally I have made an attempt to be back on Flickr after a long break. Hope my friends still remember me :).

I have got my long awaited 100-400L now and i am learning to use it. Its not straight forward to use it. The above is attempted from the same lens hand holded.

My 13 yo took this panorama with his iPhone .

Hands down , those tiny iGadgets have unlimited abilities but I think my little man nailed the composition here .

GL!
