Come on baby, let’s do the twist.
My Green Heron friend tries to do his best impression on Chubby Checker while balancing on this limb. This Greenie was doing a bit of preening prior to my interruption. Photo taken on Horsepen Bayou.
Many people from other countries may not recognize or remember the twist craze that was started by Chubby Checker in 1958, but this Greenie reminded me of Chubby doing his twist routine. And yes, I am older than that. Another step back in time compliments of that WABAC Machine.

I'm not sure this message was directed at either the photographer or 66511, as it neared journeys end at Taunton, with a train of HOBC wagons on a Westbury to Taunton Fairwater Yard working.

This is one from back in the spring that I have just got around to processing. The yellow BG is out of focus gorse - not sure if it compliments the bird in this shot but my feeling is that it is somewhat overpowering. The feathers of the Dartford always seem very coarse to me.

Best wishes for the coming year folks. We've been very fortunate here in Qld, Australia and it is our hope 2021 will be a lot more kind to everyone. We know, in some places around the world, things are looking very dire, hopefully there'll soon be an end in sight. Take care!
My sister and I headed for the lake before sunrise this morning, she took the dog and I got to take my camera & tripod....it was so amazingly beautiful when we got down there I just about cried! It was a bit foggy...and for a few moments the sun shone on the these trees....it was like someone turned on a switch. The sun then disappears behind the tall trees for the rest of the day...it is so cold, the frost on the south side doesn't melt...it has been accumulating there for just about a week now.

Compliments to the chef ! That was Michelin star quality - loved the presentation with the artistic catnip leaf on the dish. Sorry I was so rude in the previous photo ........

This orchid was left outside during Hurricane Irma and then abandoned by my neighbor when she moved. I salvaged it and brought it along when I moved. It's been on my porch for six months and I thought it was dead, but while bending down to get a shot of something else I noticed this bloom hidden behind another pot. Thanks to the nourishment of the earth, air, water and fire (the sun) it not only survived, but thrived.
even when they are not so. My child, I can live on a good compliment two weeks with nothing else to eat :-)
