that bloom, shed and then simply go.
That's the wonders of life: One minute you're here and the Next minute you're gone!
This is where Mother Nature teaches us, how fragile we can become and yet still contain within ourselves, what we really are and should be.
Many thanks for your lovely appreciation of compliments from you here, my dear good flickr friends !!!
I love them even when they are not so. My child, I can live on a good compliment two weeks with nothing else to eat :-)

A beautiful angel was once plucked from her Spring.
Her heaven lost, a new home in the frozen shore of her heart.
Memories of her beauty and life, encased in an armor of ice.
To meet the encroaching waters and forever a blissful sleep.
Late night experiments have led to a short series of conceptual ideas with macro, nature and some composite work. The first photo from the series, "Nature on Ice."
Thanks for the favs and kind compliments!

I had so many compliments about my photo of a juvenile Cuckoo about to be fed that I thought I would post what happened next. One would think that the Pipit foster parent would pass across the morsel beak to beak, but instead the Pipit repeatedly put its head deep inside the young Cuckoo's gaping beak. It reminded me of a circus lion tamer placing his head inside the lion's mouth. If you are looking at this photo in isolation here's the photo I posted yesterday which shows an earlier photo in this sequence, and the write-up explains more about the breeding biology of Cuckoos: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/51368867311/in/dateposted/ And incidentally, each time the Pipit had delivered food, the Cuckoo would deliver an ungrateful peck in return, as if to chivvy it along to fetch more food. This was on the Peak District Moors in South Yorkshire.
The flower symbolism associated with the iris is faith, wisdom, cherished friendship, hope, valor, my compliments, promise in love, wisdom.
In the Victorian language of flowers, the iris signifies a "message."
The Iris symbolize intelligence, competence, and independence.
Giving someone an iris says "Your friendship means a lot to me."
Iris, Blue: Faith, hope
Iris, Purple: Wisdom, compliments
Iris, Yellow: Passion
Iris, White: Purity
Compliments of the season , best wishes and thanks to all who have viewed, commented upon or favourited my photos during the past year.

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Flattered at being my chosen subject for a candid shot and just about to break into a warm smile. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
You can be certainly sure, that you will be looking for the quickest exit from out of here!
This Residential off-side Street Garage that I came across in London on my recent visit. Caught my eye and attention with how dim and gloomy-looking it was, even with the big ceiling lights, which did not seem to cast enough light, to realy light up all the surrounding area completely.
I decided to use my 8mm Fisheye lens, when I composed this capture, to get a good expanse of the gloomy atmosphere it contained.
Many thanks for your quick exit comments and compliments from you here, my dear good flicker friends !!!
An earlier shot of a Purple Iris.In the language of flowers the top three petals on a an Iris symbolizes faith, valor and wisdom. So now you know how you should present them to somebody.
…Please fave my photo, pretty please, ok I know that’s a terrible ‘line’ 😂
Took this one quite a while back, and thought it was about time I posted it. This is one that Danny loved, so I’m posting it for him.
Also it’s a raw file, like sushi but without the fish. Groan. I’ll shut up now.
Have a great evening all, thank ‘cod’ it’s almost the weekend. 😂😂

It's the birth of a star, earlier than sunset
It's the galaxy swollen, flowing like a river babe
It's the rain, oh the rain
Drawn upon this on my day
Growing into a super nova
Back to where we used to play
It's an infinity, as I feast on time
'Cause it constantly leams perpetual desire
'Cause we worship the keeper
The tide is going out now
As we look out to see
Legs sprawled and head down
Yes they shine bright like a million,
Let them blink twice for a minute
Pleasure to have met you, you're my star tonight
To have felt this oh sublime
Like a grain of sand travelling through time
Pleasure to have met you, you're my star tonight
Yes they shine bright like a million
Let them blink twice for a minute
Pleasure to have met you, you're my star tonight
To have felt this oh sublime
Like a grain of sand travelling through time
Pleasure to have met you, you're my star tonight
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
The time it took to realise
What you say bears sweet on my soul
Compliments with no surprises
Making route straight to their home
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
Rusty man should improve this
Not quite opting fury now
Complications falling useless
Alone and still I'm working out
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
We don't see eye to eye
... a compliment is not endless,
it is not a promise,
but you can always renew it...

Happy Greta's Tuesday, all!
This is compliments of Mother Nature and last Saturdays storm. It wasn't very nice if you had to be out in it. We had to travel an hour out of town to attend a funeral. It was snowing when we left, then turned to rain while we were there and then freezing rain for our drive home. I credit a good set of snow tires to get us home safely...oh, and my impeccable driving skills ;P Once I was home I got out my camera a took a couple of shots around my yard. It was blustery so it was difficult to get some steady shots. I had to hold the branch still with my left hand to get this one. :) Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
