Hello! I am happy to present to you day 339 of my already completed but not yet posted 365-day self-portrait project.

This photo (as day 338 was coincidently!) was taken in the middle of last November, which is almost 6 months ago (more on this later). Looking at this photo, the first thing that most likely jumps out to you is all the twirly colorful shit in the background (more on this later too).

Next would naturally be the tiny rockstar sitting on the bench rocking my hat.

Then your eyes are likely drawn to the fine piece of shrubby growing on the wall next to the bench. After that you’ll probably notice that ant crawling on the ground, which I think is next to the shoe of …..

Oh yeah! Lastly there’s the dork sitting on the pavement being a brat about his stolen piece of apparel. Hell, even my own kid wants to wear my hat! Luckily though, she was originally made from pimpsperm. So the proper technique of cool hat wearing just comes natural to her.

All kidding aside, other than her wearing my hat, the other thing I notice is her feet. No not the rad converse style shoe, but the fact that her feet are ALMOST touching the ground. And that kind of makes me feel a little melancholy.

I know she needs to get older as do I, but every time a new milestone is surpassed such as this one that is about to occur, I tend to feel this way.

And since this picture was taken nearly 6 months ago, I’m betting that her feet would touch that ground now. Glad I took this picture when I did.

The photo at hand? Well I took this after work one night down by the Ferry Terminals. This is actually two pictures combined into one (see comments). As is with practically all of my night shots, the lighting is from a street lamp. The hat thief is my daughter. The bratty dude is I.

But I bet you want to know about the carnival ride gone mad looking colors in the background? That was actually a bus that went by. I had to wait there for like 30 mins for one to come, so when it did I just took the picture and figured I’d clone it in later. I completely manipulated the pattern and presentation of the colors from the bus in post-production (as can be seen from the original in the comments).

Well, it has been another eventful week on all aspects of life. And this weekend will be no different. Shooting a wedding tomorrow with my father in law Somewheretropical and then one on my own in an old west part of Las Vegas late in the morning of Sunday.

I hope to comment on all your photos soon. But if not this weekend, you know why.

Probably my last HDR for a little while. Expect lots of wedding stuff soon. Don't hate me.

Completing an overnight eastbound run out of Durango, CO, a pair of elderly D&RGW locomotives run the last half mile toward the company yards in Chama, NM, where the engine crews hope to get breakfast. The helper leading this morning is D&RGW C-18 #315, with K-27 #463 as the road engine. The pair are pictured not far from the Chama southern yard limit, near Milepost 344.4.

This image was captured during a September 2013 photo shoot on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, which featured Locomotives 315 and 463 operating together and on separate trains for 4 days all across the 64-mile railroad. The 463 is owned and operated by the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and often hauls the regular passenger trains out of Antonito, CO. The 315 is owned and operated by the Durango Railroad Historical Society and although she's technically based in Silverton, CO, she's been resident here on the C&TS and operating on special trains for over a decade.

The bus looks fantastic carrying its big LRT lothians, this is as I remember them and I am so happy with the way the bus has came out. Myself and Graham along with my father Brian have spent 15 years worth of Sundays grafting to get the bus restored. God only knows how many hours we have spent on the bus, but the £ spent would make a grown man cry... but seeing the bus today complete and driving makes every penny spent worth it. Going forward I have a range of smaller jobs to do on the bus and we will work into 2021 getting it ready for presentation to an MOT station then we can see about have a bit of fun driving her about Edinburgh again.

Now to fill in the areas with something of substance!

This lake, north of Kingston, is named after the British Militaty Engineer, Colonel John By, responsible for the creation of the Rideau Canal. In 1832, the canal completed the inland waterway linking Montreal to the Great Lakes, circumventing the St. Lawrence River. Following the War of 1812, the St. Lawrence River, was vulnerable to American control. Canada felt the need to have protected access to Upper Canada which is now known as Ontario.

An enjoyable challenge without needing to refer to the box.

There were many tricky areas, especially in the dresses.

On the 26th of May 2017, I achieved my aim of completing my desired collection of National Express Caetano Levante. coaches. Yes, this my first shot, and that will do! This is Silverdales FJ10 EZT, and has possibly been rebranded, as I cannot see any other photo of this coach in this livery.

From yesterday's US Navy Blue Angels demonstration at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA, during the annual Wings Over Solano event, here are a few passes using my DFA 150-450mm on the K3ii. Polarizer was used to cut sky glare.

Hope you enjoy these.

My 241 Tote (pattern by Anna Graham!), is now complete. It's made with prints from Lizzy House's fabric lines (Lizzy Dish, Red Letter Day, Castle Peeps, 1001 Peeps, Outfoxed), and now has been adorned with Outfoxed pins! I love collecting pins and could not pass these up when she listed them in her shop! :)

The switching layout is now pretty much finished. All areas are polished off and it’s a blast to operate. I’ve been quite happy with all the subtle details I’ve been able to model with this layout. It’s very fun to operate and I think really compliments whatever is running at the time!
