The design of plate compactors offers easy maneuverability, too. They have been lighter than stereo rollers and their small plate sizes, 13 to 26 in., make them an easy task to handle round barriers, alongside buildings and in limited areas. Another feature that a number of manufacturers offer for increased ease of use and efficiency is a compaction indicator. This tool gives operators compaction results, allowing them to prevent once the desired stiffness is already reached. This eliminates the possibility of more than and under-compacting substances, which is expensive and time consuming to improve.

I asked for a compact car at the rental place, and this is what they gave me. Not compact by any stretch of the imagination.
Why, oh why, do these people insist on compacting the earth ? There would have been enough room for humus around the tree. You see, even cities have their "urban flora and fauna". But they need nutrients too and there is less and less biological substrate for these urban species. / In German they call this Bodenverdichtung. / Biologists have been sending alarming messages about species extinctions and those in danger. We have enough problems with the Global Climate Change, why make it unecessarily worse ? This photo illustrates a simple measure (which was not taken). Someone probably planned this and decided that this was more "efficient" !!!! Some people know how to calculate simple things, but disregard complexities of nature !

The presentation standard of Sport Compact drag cars has really amazed me so far this year, with a lot of the top runner track cars looking like prestine show cars with candy pearl paint jobs, tastefull air brushing and graffix and tuff drag spec rims all round. these guys have definatly stepped it up a notch!

These are the last of the CD and water drop photos I took a couple weeks ago. I have been busy editing some of my Smoky Mountain and Zoo shots lately and forgot about these. Enjoy!!!!
Here's the result when it's getting late on Monday night and I realize I haven't yet taken a photo for the day. I'm still trying to get a handle on shooting digital in low-light and mixed-light situations. It took a few tries; here flash was enabled with "film speed" set at 3200 ISO.
This is one Wisconsinite who will never get used to seeing Brett Favre in Jet green.
The Mayflower Compact was signed in by the men of the Mayflower while still aboard ship. It was the first written attempt at self government in American History, and it remained in effect until 1691. The Pilgrims who sailed to the New World on the Mayflower had originally intended to settle in Virginia. When they landed in Massachusetts instead, in November 1620, they realized they were outside the jurisdiction of the Virginia charter. To establish their own authority and to aviod a possible mutiny, the Pilgrim leaders drew up and signed an agreement known as the Mayflower Compact. The original document has disappeared. Thankfully, William Bradford, the second governor of Plymouth Colony, wrote a history Of Plimoth Plantation. The version now available follows his spelling and punctuation.
