Hello!
Sooner than you thought hm? This is the final result of the kitchen from the video I just previously uploaded. As you can see, I've used a lot of natural materials, Travertine stone and semi-gloss cabinetry to add some airiness to the surrounding interior, whilst it also allows the kitchen to flow with the rooms throughout the home. The wooden stools by THOR really add some characteristic warmth, with the multi accents.

First visit this winter looking for migrant finches, but didn't see any, lots of the commoner Finches and Tit species with fleeting visits from Nuthatch and Woodpecker.
Widespread and common. Flies from May to early September. It is not choosy as to habitat, though it prefers lakes and ponds, being less common on flowing water and in exposed and upland sites. It can also tolerate some salinity. Females occur in a variety of colour forms, and the distribution and relative frequency of these in Ireland is unknown. Immature females are either form violacea (violet thorax) or form rufescens (reddish-pink thorax). The immature rufescens matures into a form known as rufescens-obsoleta whilst the immature violacea can mature either into the andromorph or into infuscans.
Males of this species are similar to males of the much rarer Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly Ischnura pumilio. However the commoner Blue-tail is a larger insect and the blue on the tail is confined to segment 8, whereas in the Scarce Blue-tail it covers the posterior portion of segment 8 and all of segment

G'day everyone - If you follow me on Instagram you probably would've already seen this but this was just a small space I begun decorating for a small getaway which I never finished, but I did take photo's. As you may have noticed in my journey of SL, I used to do a lot of clutter decorating, and as I started being educated at Interior Design school. I was able to understand spaces, furniture, and colour at a wider scale. Being able to get the most out of a space without bringing in clutter to an Interior space, other words, basically playing with colour to give the full volume, which is a challenge.

I took this male Ring Ouzel down in the Peak District yesterday morning but the birds seemed to be extraordinarily skittish. This was the best I could manage as one perched atop a drystone wall against the clear, blue morning sky.
Ring Ouzels nest in rocky moorland areas throughout Britain and are the upland counterpart of Blackbird. Unlike the resident Blackbirds, Ring Ouzels migrate south for the winter, where they feed on Phoenician Juniper berries in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. They usually arrive back in Britain during early April, when their song is usually the first sign that they are back. The song is a distinctive repeated whistle, but they also have a "complex song". Here is a recording from the Peak District where the two song types are interspersed: www.xeno-canto.org/593279 . They also do a lot of "chacking", which sounds a little drier and less metallic than a Blackbird's chack. They are also much scarcer than Blackbirds. Here is a recording of the chacking made by my friend David Pennington: www.xeno-canto.org/586130 . The Ring Ouzel population was estimated at 6-7,000 in 1999, and is likely to have declined since then. Blackbirds are much commoner with a population estimated at around 5 million pairs.
The name Ouzel is the oldest name for a Blackbird and was in use from the earliest times through to the seventeenth century, when Blackbird gradually took over. Shakespeare added a "W" in Midsummer Night's Dream (1590) "The Woosell cocke, so black of hew, with Orenge-tawny bill". The name Ring Ouzel for this species was first recorded by John Ray in 1674, with the ring referring to the white gorget in males. Gorget incidentally is the name for the breast plate in a suit of armour. Ray also used the name Rock Ouzel referring to its habitat and dialect names include Crag Ouzel and Tor Ouzel.

All Australian crows are black with white eyes. Here in Western Australia there is a choice of two and this is the commoner of the two. A raucous call, much higher pitched than our northern birds. A lot smaller too, about the size of a Carrion Crow.
It's been close to a year now since Consumers Energy transitioned away from its coal-fired power plans, Karn 1 & 2, at Essexville, and with the transition, the elimination of the coal trains that served it. Back in December of 2021, (E803 Power River empties) clears the classic C&O signal cantilever at NE Grand Blanc on LSRC's (ex-CSX) Saginaw Subdivision with an H2 SD70Mac on point.
Another year, another casualty of whatever knee-jerk whimsies the larger forces enact upon the commoners...

Sky burial (Tibetan: བྱ་གཏོར་, w bya gtor), lit. "alms for the birds") is a funerary practice in the Chinese provinces of Tibet, Qinghai, and Inner Mongolia and in Mongolia proper wherein a human corpse is incised in certain locations and placed on a mountaintop, exposing it to the elements (mahabhuta) and animals – especially predatory birds. The locations of preparation and sky burial are understood in the Vajrayana traditions as charnel grounds.
The majority of Tibetans and many Mongolians adhere to Vajrayana Buddhism, which teaches the transmigration of spirits. There is no need to preserve the body, as it is now an empty vessel. Birds may eat it or nature may cause it to decompose. The function of the sky burial is simply to dispose of the remains in as generous a way as possible (the source of the practice's Tibetan name). In much of Tibet and Qinghai, the ground is too hard and rocky to dig a grave, and, due to the scarcity of fuel and timber, sky burials were typically more practical than the traditional Buddhist practice of cremation. In the past, cremation was limited to high lamas and some other dignitaries, but modern technology and difficulties with sky burial have led to its increasing use by commoners.

Pirogovo, Kiev Oblast, Ukraine
Some background information:
Originally Pirogovo used to be a village about 30 km south of the Ukrainian capital city Kiev. But nowadays the territory of historic Pirogovo serves as the location of an outdoor museum of folk architecture and life of the Ukraine. The museum, which was founded in 1969, comprises 370 acres of land and contains over 300 carefully reassembled buildings of folk architecture brought here from all parts of Ukraine.
Those buildings include commoner's homes, houses of small trade, commerce and local administration, old wooden village churches and windmills. They contain authentic items that represent the everyday lifestyle of Ukrainian villagers and townsfolk. Dressed in old-style clothes local volunteers and modern Ukrainian artisans sell their wares there and demonstrate the use of authentic everyday items to the visitors.
Pirogovo museum has been accorded the status of State Museum of Ukraine and is affiliated with the Institute of Arts, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine.
The Box Bug (Gonocerus acuteangulatus) is a relatively large reddish-brown squashbug, distinguished from the commoner Coreus marginatus by the narrower abdomen and more pointed lateral extremities of the pronotum. Nymphs have a green abdomen.
Historically very rare (RBD1) and known only from Box Hill in Surrey, where it feeds on Box trees, this bug is expanding its range and now occurs widely in the south-east of England and beyond. It is exploiting different foodplants, and has been found on hawthorn, buckthorn, yew and plum trees.

In the UK, there is one species everybody knows the Queen protects: the mute swan (Cygnus olor). The Crown claimed ownership of all the mute swans in England and Wales in the 12th Century, primarily to stop commoners depriving the royals of a favourite banqueting dish. Thankfully times have changed and these beautiful birds are no longer eaten. It is a criminal offence to harm a swan in any way.
Every summer an annual count of these swans takes place and it is known as Swan Upping. The census highlights trends in the birds' health that are reflected across the country.
Photographed (in the rain) at La Janda, Cadiz, Spain. One of the commoner passerines in the right habitat here, which makes a nice change from my local area in the UK where is has disappeared as a breeding bird in the last 20 years or so.
Little Ringed Plovers are summer visitors to Britain, sometimes arriving as early as mid-March. Originally associated with gravel workings in central England, they have now colonised seasonally wet areas across the post-industrial landscapes of the north-west. In Wales and Scotland, new colonists use river gravels for nesting. They nest on the ground on stones with little or no plant growth. Both males and females take turns incubating the eggs. These birds forage for food on muddy areas, usually by sight. They eat insects and worms.
Easily confused with its commoner coastal cousin, the Ringed Plover, this species prefers fresh water. It is a daintier bird, has more subtle colours and lacks a white wing-bar when seen in flight. A good close view reveals the diagnostic yellow eye-ring.
The present Nottingham Castle is a 17th Century Italianate mansion house, built after the medieval structure was raised following the Civil wars; a fate shared by many strategically important English castles. It was severely damaged again during the 1831 when rioting commoners set fire to the Duke's palace (the reform act riots). It stood derelict for decades until it became first municipal art gallery outside of London in Britain. Today it remains a museum and art gallery and boasts caves, tunnels, great city views and restored medieval walls and gate house.

"The term banana republic has been used by a couple of French friends in reaction to the news from Paris this week. They were referring to the high-handed way that France's ruler and his caste have been behaving in two or three current matters. The latest involves an astonishing act of nepotism by Nicolas Sarkozy. His barons are about to elevate Jean Sarkozy, the President's 23-year-old, undergraduate son, to a powerful and prized executive post."

Hi everyone,
I'm sharing photo footage on high quality of the vanity build. I did plan on doing a whole bathroom but if you're interested in this video I'll do multiple parts in sections with each space of the bathroom so that you can follow through. This build is not a manual illustration or guide to real life design but simply explaining the process of design into a virtual world.
I defiantly recommend watching the video to see how I started and and step by step throughout.

I was leaving the New Forest and came across a herd of Ponies at this road junction. I stood and watched for an hour with a local commoner as tourists and locals carefully pushed through. The commoner explained to me that they gather in areas where the Tarmac is particularly thick which in hot weather heats up and the fumes help keep the flies away. Clever ponies!
RSPB Nagshead.
A warbler of dense scrub understorey and woodland edge, the Garden Warbler is more often noticed in well-wooded countryside rather than in gardens. It is evenly coloured brown with beige underparts and has a stout black bill and beady black eye. Garden Warblers spend our winter months south of the Sahara.
The Garden Warbler comes into its own when it sings, with rich, fluty whistling notes. In addition to its lack of a black cap, to the practised ear its song distinguishes Garden Warbler from the commoner and more widespread Blackcap. (BTO).

My bee from a couple of weeks ago has been confirmed as this species (sometimes referred to as Brown-footed Leafcutter)
A first for Northumberland although this could be due to being overlooked amongst commoner similar species and due to lack of recorders in the area as they have since been found at another site not that far away and I may have found them at another this past weekend too.
The leaf cutters are solitary bees this one had excavated a nest chamber in a rotting fencepost. They line each cell of the tunnel with a segment of leaf which they lay an egg in then fill with pollen.
Still trying to catch a shot of one flying in with the leaf segment, they nearly always go straight in without pausing. This one was excavating it’s nest chamber and paused for a breather.
Twite are one of England's rarest and most localised breeding birds, although they are commoner in Scotland. England only has about a hundred breeding pairs centred on the Pennine moors between Huddersfield and Burnley. They breed on the moorland edge, usually in bracken litter or heather, but they do most of their feeding in nearby farmland. They are one of just a handful of British birds that are almost totally dependent on a diet of seeds. Most seed-eaters switch to protein-rich insects when chick rearing but not Twite.
The name Twite is onomatopoeic as they give a nasal, twanging "tzwai-eet" call. The song is also a rather simple medley incorporating these twangy notes. And I managed to photograph this one singing its twangy song in a tiny hawthorn bush. Its scientific name flavirostris neans yellow-nosed as in winter they have a conspicuously yellow bill, but this has usually faded to a less conspicuous horn colour by May. Males and females have similar plumage apart from males having a pinkish rump. Our Pennine Twite usually migrate to east coast saltmarshes for the winter but a few are tempted to stay in the hills year-round by the provision of food.

I went out looking for Swallowtails today, and by golly I found some. This is a Pipevine Swallowtail on Blazing Star.
Family: Parnassians and Swallowtails (Papilionidae)
Subfamily: Swallowtails (Papilioninae)
Identification: Upper surface of hindwing iridescent blue or blue-green. Underside of hindwing with submarginal row of 7 round orange spots in iridescent blue field.
Life history: Adult males patrol likely habitat in search of receptive females. Females lay batches of eggs on underside of host plant leaves. Caterpillars feed in small groups when young but become solitary when older. Wintering is by the chrysalis.
Flight: In the East and California, adults fly primarily in late spring and summer, but the butterfly is commoner in late summer and fall in the South and Southwest. Where lack of freezing temperatures permit, adults may fly continuously. In lowland tropical Mexico they may be found in any month.
Wing span: 2 3/4 - 5 inches (7 - 13 cm).
Caterpillar hosts: Pipevines (Aristolochia species), including Aristolochia californica, A. serpentaria and others.
Adult food: Solely nectar from flowers including thistles (Cirsium species), bergamot, lilac, viper's bugloss, common azaleas, phlox, teasel, azaleas, dame's-rocket, lantana, petunias, verbenas, lupines, yellow star thistle, California buckeye, yerba santa, brodiaeas, and gilias.
Habitat: A wide variety of open habitats, open woodland, and woodland edges.
Range: Rare stray to Canada (s. Manitoba). Tropical lowlands south to southern Mexico.
The largest of the UK's divers, it has a bigger, heavier head and bill than its commoner relatives. It is largely a winter visitor to our shores although some non-breeding birds stay off northern coasts in the summer.
This Glaucous-winged Gull seems to know that there will be something tasty inside the bony plates covering this starfish. But he doesn't know how to unwrap it. Nor is he willing to admit defeat just yet. So he sat around with it in his beak, making sure that no other gulls took it.
Glaucous-winged Gulls breed along the Pacific coast of Canada and Alaska, and were by far the commonest species of gull we saw in Alaska. They hybridise freely with Western Gulls (which don't look anything like them!) and in Washington state hybrids are commoner than either parent species.

________________________________________________
On this day in 69 CE, the accomplished military commander Vespasian entered Rome to claim the title of Imperator, establishing the Flavian Dynasty and overseeing the largest empire the world had ever seen. At the time, the city of Rome was the preeminent bustling metropolis of the ancient world and was home to more than a million people. It would be nearly a half-century before the Empire reached its greatest territorial extents under Trajan I in 117 CE, spanning the entire Mediterranean from modern-day Iberia to Iraq and Scotland to Egypt.
As decorated as Vespasian became, and as incredibly vast as the empire was for its time, both came from humble beginnings. Vespasian was the first Roman Emperor to ascend from the level of commoner through a series of increasing senatorial ranks coupled masterfully with a distinguished military career. Similarly, Rome was once a lowly tribal settlement atop the Capitoline Hill which, over the centuries, grew to cover seven hills and served as the seat of the Roman Republic, and later the vast Roman Empire.
After being commissioned by the Museu da Imaginação to design and build ‘a large, 1m x 2m historical layout of Ancient Rome’ with little more to go off than said prompt, I immediately dove headfirst into the incredibly vast rabbit hole that is Ancient Roman history. Quite early on, I realized the approach to designing something so mindbogglingly vast in such a relatively small window of time would critically depend on having a strict schedule of target deadlines by which to design compartmentalized stages of the overall layout. After all, considering Vespasian or the Roman Empire at the heights of their power would be such an inconceivable notion without having also studied the respective contexts and timeline of events leading to each of their zeniths.
For this reason, the design of the layout was subdivided into eight regional stages and executed over the course of about five weeks between September and November 2019. Not only did this subdivision ease my sleepless nights of nearly being overwhelmed by the commitment, it was also my crossing-the-Rubicon moment when I truly considered this to be something I could commit to accomplishing within the timeframe, without sacrificing any of my signature design rigor. It has always been a creative dream of mine to design a vast, comprehensive city layout in which individual landmarks can be appreciated as integral parts of a much broader historical and cultural landscape. That is why I am immensely grateful to the Museu da Imaginação for commissioning this piece. Not only has it been an incredibly humbling and educational collaboration for myself, but I can rest more easily knowing our efforts will inspire countless guests and museum patrons for years to come. No time to rest on my laurels though! The question now is, “What comes after the Eternal City?”
