Canadian-built version of Czech Consul 1511 was made by company that went on to produce one of the pioneering lines of personal computers. This machine has a distinct cast-metal body and different keytops than the Consul — ones similar to those on Underwood portables of the period. Serial number Zp-120814 indicates it was made 1958-1959.
The cheap Texet calculator which I bought for the office was doa. So I ordered this on ebay and it just arrived today. Approx. 35 years old too, and it still works. It takes one of the large 9 volt batteries though. This is my second Commodore LED calculator, I have a slightly thinner black one which I keep on my desk, and that too still works while being approx 35 years old also.

Taken from the plane after take off in Philadelphia on our way to Portland, ME. There was a lot of glare off the water and I tried to compensate for it but I liked the reflection.

For a short while, the lobby of this hotel was the home of Centerville's Minnie Pearl statue, but the statue was gone on the day I was there. It has been placed back a few years later.
