The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce and Delaware Valley College, along with major sponsors Wachovia Bank, Independence Blue Cross, and Comcast, presented Succeeding in the New Economy: An Economic Summit on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Campus of Delaware Valley College in Doylestown. Moderated by very special guest Lynn Doyle, of It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle, the summit featured a local and regional panel of top business executives. Each member of the panel presented three key strategies for achieving business success in the new economy. Participants in the respective panels were:

Chapel Hill, NC – The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce announced the 2011 Business of the Year award winners on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at its Annual Meeting held at the Sheraton Hotel in Chapel Hill.
“These enterprises are recognized as outstanding Chamber member businesses that have shown growth, innovation of product, exemplary customer service, response to adversity, and contribution to the community,” said Aaron Nelson, Chamber President and CEO.
The winners for each award are as follows:
•The 2011 Chair’s Award for Public-Private Partnership is awarded to Bernadette Pelissier, chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioners.
•The Progress Energy 2011 Sustainable Business of the Year is Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
•The 2011 Chamber Ambassador of the Year is Helen Antipov of Comfort Keepers
•The 2011 Business of the Year (Small), presented by Polaris IT Solutions, is Showroom Shine.
•The 2011 Business of the Year (Mid-Size), presented Harrington Bank, is Strata Solar.
•The 2011 Business of the Year (Large), presented by Fidelity Investments, is a tie between 3 Birds Marketing and Carolina Brewery.
•The 2011 Non-Profit of the Year, presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class, is Community Home Trust.
•The recipients of the 2011 Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award are The Employees of UNC Health Care.

Vision 2020 : Towards Sustainable Water Management.
India's supply of water is rapidly dwindling primarily due to mismanagement of water resources, although over-pumping and pollution are also significant contributors. Today, water resource management strategy is required to be integrated and innovative so that it is sustainable and efficient; this can be ensured through innovative tools of promotion, and incentives for the efficient water utilization, while simultaneously, dealing with inefficient water consumption through taxes, disincentives, and tariffs. A holistic management approach on how to use, from where to use, distribution network, collection network, its treatment and disposal has to be defined. The investments in urban water infrastructure need to be supported by governance, reforms in order to transform the urban sector and improve delivery of services and adequate improvement in provisions for maintenance of assets have to be made.
The 5th Edition of India International Water Summit aims to provide an unique and ideal forum to bring in policy level interaction/representation along with B2B opportunities. The discussions and deliberations at the summit will not only focus on policy and regulatory environment prevailing in the country but would also focus on new projects on sustainable management of water, advanced technologies, business development, success stories and idea of replication as well.
The Summit is envisaged to provide the forum for interaction with the policy makers, industrial experts,environmentalists, researchers and academicians etc on a common platform to discuss, deliberate and develop technically viable and economically feasible solutions for sustainable development, its governance and management.
