A woman died and multiple family members suffered injuries during a three alarm fire in San Jose. A second family member died two days later.
Firefighters responded to the blaze after receiving a call at 2:47 a.m. from a resident saying the townhouse was on fire. When fire crews arrived, they were met by residents screaming that people needed to be rescued.
Rescues continued for some time as firefighters worked to get everyone out of the house.

The first part of hte order was for a half dozen brand new Chevy Suburbans... the harder part is converting to command centers so it will take a while before we see them on the roads.

On Monday, June 20, on a very hot, late Spring afternoon, the San Jose Fire Department responded to a downtown structure fire. A level 2 high rise response was activated due to multiple reports of visible flames. Although originally reported as a "fully involved apartment fire," the blaze was actually burning on the structure's roof. Apparently, the area functioned as a smoking deck for the building's residents. With the fire located on the fourth-floor roof, accessed by a narrow stairwell and exposed to the blazing sun, it proved to be a very tiring incident for all those involved.

Exercise Scenario: At 09:00 on Saturday, September 18, 2010, a Bombardier Q400 inbound to land on Runway 4 at Reagan National experiences severe flight control problems for unknown reasons approximately 200 feet prior to the approach end of the runway. The aircraft impacts the water and breaks apart. Parts of the airplane strike three vehicles driving on Thomas Avenue, pushing them into the parking lot south of Runway 4 and creating a debris field. The fuselage bursts into flames as it skids onto the parking area southwest of the runway. Four victims are flung into the Potomac River with multiple victims located in the parking lot. Additional, two airport shuttle buses have collided in the parking lot.
