Sometimes when Raerae is doing her invisible spying behind the net curtain it looks there are three cats on the windowsill.
Raerae, her reflection in the window, and her shadow against the net curtain :-D

This was her effort yesterday LOL! - she might have been feeling a bit too plump to jump.
Though she can really leap when she feels like it.
For this weeks Flickr Friday 'Jump' theme. 😃

There is something a bit comical and comforting at the same time in this image. I got it earlier this year when Jody Wells www.flickr.com/photos/134270033@N06 discovered this Northern Shrike at the Saanichton Spit. This image is not meant to be a "Northern Shrike" image, it is an image about nature and resilience of our wildlife. Look at the size of this bird in relation to its environment.... things are falling apart but birds strive and it is comforting to know this, however we need to continue to care. I have a bluebird picture perched in a similar fashion that I will share on another HFF. Hope you all have a great weekend with great photo opportunities.
.........had a fab day with these comical guys on Inner Farne yesterday. Nikon D500/300mm PF + 1.4x TC.

Comical Puffins are at it again!!
Captured on the Aberdeenshire Coastline whilst out a walk after work.
Taken on my Nikon D5500 DSLR
with the Sigma 150-600C Contemporary lens and 1.4x Converter.
Captured handheld at 850mm.
Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea). This grey heron strikes a comical pose in its preening - its head is under there somewhere!
Grey Seal pups resting above the tide line, while the adults were seen feeding off shore on a recent wildlife shoot.
Happy Weekend to all :-)
Liked the comical interpretation of the classic...Down at the Clyde side in Glasgow where there are a number of up & coming graffiti artists
The grand stairway has 171 steps. All day, many people are in this stairway continuously. Some events, such as a live concert,a comical dialog and so on, are opened at every weekend.

Adult male Common Eider bouncing off water as it lands
New England region, East Coast, USA
It is very comical to watch these ducks landing 😂
At this particular spot, you will get multiple occasions to get shots like this one even with a shorter lens. This photographs was taken with a 100-400mm lens on a full frame camera. Yes, I will describe in detail where you need to be situated to get such photograph in my upcoming guide to photographing waterfowl in New England region - www.greggard.com/location-guides/common-eiders-new-englan...
Thank you in advance for kind comments!

These critters are always full of personality and comical expressions. I love photographing them.
Captured this whimsical shot while driving through Virgina. Good for a smile!
7DWF Wednesday Theme: Close up
Is it just me, or do the kids heading into the water look a bit like aliens?
Minor point of interest - the driftwood sticking up from the sand is the same as in one of my horse shots from 13 July last year. It must be part of a big tree that's stuck very firmly into the sand.
And you can see how much the stream has moved!
And I thought the bit to the left looked like an arm reaching up out of the sand.
Taken at Himatangi beach, NZ
Taken on the Isle of Lunga, Scotland. We took a boat trip with Staffa Tours to Lunga and Staffa. If you're ever up that way I can highly recommend this trip.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!
We wish you all a very happy Christmas and a fabulous New Year!! And thank you all for your very kind support through out 2008 we are very honoured to have such dear flickr friends!

A juvenile American Bittern strikes what appeals to me as a comical pose at a wetland in southern Alberta, Canada. The effect is created by the fluffed-out feathers and of course the way the eyes appear in this view.
Taken in Florida earlier this year. Such comical, cute birds!
As always thank you for stopping by to view my images. I really appreciate any comments and faves. Have a great day my Flickr friends.
One of my pet dinosaurs stomping around behind the drying washing. He thought he was invisible, and being quiet. Some things that are hard to be, when you are a dinosaur ;-)

Cedar Waxwings are beautiful birds and almost comical to watch as they feast on berries by tossing them into their mouths. Yet when they pause, they display an elegance and stateliness as reflected in this shot. This bird was among a flock of about 12 that descended on a small crabapple tree in the parking lot of a local JC Penny store. The building provided a beautiful soft background color while the bird posed on a low branch.
Puffin
Fratercula arctica (Atlantic puffin)
Often called the ‘clown of the sea’ the puffin is an unmistakable seabird with a black back and white underparts, distinctive black head with large pale cheeks and brightly-coloured bill. Their comical appearance is heightened by red and black eye markings and bright orange legs.
Breeding
They prefer islands where they mostly nest in burrows which they usually excavate themselves but they may also nest under rocks and scree or in cracks on cliffs: these are called puffinries. They lay one egg and their young are called pufflings. After hatching the young puffin remains underground concealed in the nest, until the night comes for it to head for the open sea, not to return until it is ready to breed, usually some 5 years later.
Winter
Spent at sea, some fly as far as the Bay of Biscay.
Eat
Fish, especially sandeels.
Sound
A growling laugh.
Spot them
Adults arrive back at the breeding colonies in March and April and leave again in early-August. You’ll see them on the Isle of May, Fidra, Craigleith and occasionally in the stone walls of the historic ramparts on the Bass Rock. A group of puffins is called a circus.

Blue-rumped Parrot
Psittinus cyanurus Large-headed and short-tailed parrot with a comically bulbous bill. Male is green with a bright orange bill and a powder-blue head and rump. Female is brown-headed with a dark bill. Usually moves in mid-sized flocks through forests, edges, and parks. Does not sound as cacophonous and unpleasant as many parrots; gives rather musical whistled notes.
THANK YOU!!! 💋💋💋
A few months ago I started with flickr just to kill some time. If you look back to my beginning you see I did not know much, all I had was a passion of making pictures. Over time the music series developed.. then the comics.. and many other little experiments such as changing Windlight settings, focus, post editing, morphing.. and I still feel like I just started this journey.
But most of all, its because of you that I still doing it. You motivate me with your works and words, with suggestions and sometimes just with inspiration. I never thought anyone would like those pictures other than me . Thank you all, I am deeply humbled 💕💕💕 300 followers.. o wow! This is for all of you
A bit of bubble play :-)
Having fun with new fangled bubble making hand-held bubble makers. I took heaps of photos and some came out :-)

This squirrel, of course, had NO idea of how comical it looked with this unopened cone in its teeth (and didn't seem to care as it was photographed)!
This squirrel is also sitting on its "midden" - a large area covered with the remains of spruce cones from prior feasting events. There were quite a few middens along this trail (Oxbow Trail) and they were riddled with holes where the squirrels store cones and other food for later eating. The squirrels actively guard their middens from intruding or thieving squirrels.

This is a real sea-monster. I found it in the Dunedin museum (NZ, Sep 2016), in their dead animal collection in the attic. Stupidly I didn't photograph the info card saying what it was, and when/where it was found. But I'm sure it was in a spaceship at the bottom of the ocean.
A rainbow lorikeet enjoying a feast. They are quite comical to watch eating as they twist and contort themselves to get to the best berries
Puffins are unmistakable birds with their black back and white underparts, distinctive black head with large pale cheeks and their tall, flattened, brightly-coloured bill. Its comical appearance is heightened by its red and black eye-markings and bright orange legs. Used as a symbol for books and other items, this clown among seabirds is one of the world's favourite birds. With half of the UK population at only a few sites, it's a Red List species.
These males were chasing each other around the tree. Quite comical at times.
Thanks so much for the visit!
