Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

Bald Eagle at Conowingo Dam. Just a little North of the Chesapeake Bay, on the lower Susquehanna River in Conowingo, Maryland, is the Conowingo Dam. In 1928, when the dam was complete, it was the second largest producer of electricity in the United States after Niagra Falls. The location is popular with photographers especially in late fall into Winter and especially when the dam is letting water through the turbines. The Eagles come to feed on fish below the spillways and create a lot of opportunity for photo enthusiasts. Lindau is a Bavarian town and an island on the eastern side of Lake Constance the Bodensee near the place where the borders of Germany, Austria and Switzerland come together. The historic city of Lindau is located on an island which is connected with the mainland by a road bridge. By far the best way to get to know this charming old island town is on foot. Lose yourself in the maze of small streets and passageways flanked by centuries-old houses. Wander down to the harbor for magnificent views. Lindau was made a Free Imperial City within the Holy Roman Empire in 1275. It had developed as a fishing settlement and then spent hundreds of years as a trading center. When you visit the city, you must see the harbor at night. Both the statue and lighthouse are beautifully lit, which makes a breathtaking sight. Tour boats, which come and go are covered with colored lights, as well, contributing to a festive atmosphere. You may climb to the top of the lighthouse for a small fee and get a panoramic view of the whole area. You can also enjoy swimming or sailing on the lake. Many different boat tours are available to take folks out onto the lake. These trips give you a terrific view of the clear blue water with the majestic peaks of the Alps in the background. The town itself reminds you of something from a fairy tale with its narrow streets full of tightly packed gable houses, all painted different pastel colors. The Town Hall is a uniquely Bavarian building with colorful designs covering its exterior. There is an open-air market held every Saturday morning where you can find fresh produce, meat and cheese for sale. Lindau marks one end of the German Alpine Road, which provides a scenic drive through the Alps. This highway has been popular with tourists from around the world for more than 75 years. Its well-marked route will take you past mountain meadows and quaint farming villages. There are about 25 castles and palaces to see along the way, as well. If you are very physically fit, you may enjoy the challenge of biking along the adjacent cycling path.

De historische stad Lindau ligt aan de Bodensee aan de voet van de Vorarlberger en Allgauer Voralpen. Men spreekt terecht van het vakantie-eiland Lindau. De bijzondere ligging, het historische stadsbeeld, het aangename klimaat maken Lindau tot een aantrekkelijke verblijfplaats. In de vroege Middeleeuwen moet Lindau vooral een nederzetting van vissers zijn geweest. Omstreeks 800 werd er een nonnenklooster gevestigd en nog weer enkele eeuwen later werd de betekenis van marktplaats steeds belangrijker. Vanaf de 33 m hoge nieuwe vuurtoren met daartegenover het hoge standbeeld van de Bayerische Löwede heb je een mooi uitzicht over het haventje van Lindau am See. De populaire vakantiestreek Bodenmeer ligt in de drie-landen-hoek Oostenrijk-Zwitserland-Duitsland. Het grootste gedeelte van het Bodenmeer hoort bij Duitsland 62%, bij Zwitserland horen 27% en bij Oostenrijk het kleinste deel van 11%. Het meer bestaat uit drie delen: de Untersee, de Obersee en de Seerhein, die de beide andere delen met elkaar verbindt. Het Oostenrijkse gedeelte van het Bodenmeer is de oostelijke kant van de Obersee. De vrijetijdsmogelijkheden aan het Bodenmeer zijn zo veelzijdig dat er maar enkele genoemd kunnen worden. Voorop staat uiteraard de watersport. Het Bodenmeer is een populair zeilgebied. Ook boottochten horen bij de geliefde vrijetijdsactiviteiten aan het meer.Een absolute “must” is de Bodenseeradwanderweg, een rondweg om het hele meer.Overal rond het Bodenmeer vindt u leuke dorpjes en interessante stadjes met fraaie strandpromenades en verschillende bezienswaardigheden. Het Bodenmeer ligt op 395m hoogte en bezit een wateroppervlakte van 536km2. Het meer is qua oppervlakte het op twee na grootste meer van Midden-Europa. Het gehele Bodenmeer is een heerlijk gebied met talloze diersoorten een echt paradijs: onder andere ligt er een groot bos, afgewisseld door weilanden waarop koeien grazen. Overal in het gebied vindt u een unieke flora en fauna.

Gunnuhver geothermal area is a field of steaming fumaroles and boiling mud pools. In the recent past some geysers existed here as well. As the tectonic plates move, new passages are constantly opening (and older ones are closing) for heated groundwater and gases. Gunnuhver is one such area. Here deeper below the surface the temperature of ground (and water in it) reaches 300° C. Much of groundwater comes from the nearby sea and is rich with chlorides and also with dissolved silica. As a result in the recent past hot springs and geysers have created sinter deposits - a hill named Kísilhóll (Kísilhóll, Silica hill). Today here are no hot water springs and geysers, but northeast from Kísilhóll are located many steam vents (fumaroles) and boiling mud pools. Mud pools are formed by acidic groundwater sources, which turn lava into clay. The largest mud pool in Iceland also is located here - it is 20 m across, boiling vigorously along its rims. Hot ground is an immense source of energy. In 2006 near Gunnuhver geothermal field started to operate the Reykjanes Geothermal Plant. As a result the steaming of the ground in the geothermal field increased.
The walkways here make it easy to watch your step, but they weren’t here 300 years ago when the troublesome ghost of Gudrún Önundardóttir—who gives her nickname ‘Gunna’ to this beautiful geothermal field—was tricked into taking hold of a charmed knotted-rope that led her across the field and into the big fumerole. Some say she didn’t fall in with the rope, but is stuck holding onto the end of it, and paces around the rim of the steamy abyss for all eternity. I can’t be sure, but it was uncanny how the steam shifted in the breeze but never cleared completely, as though veiling something, or someone… You need to tread carefully when wandering around the striking mud pools and fumaroles of Gunnuhver, close to the Reykjanes town of Grindavík.
The Gunnuhver geothermal field reopened in June 2010 after being closed for a couple of years due to instability—one of the dangers being that the high-pressured steam might suddenly find another outlet underneath the visitor walkway.

Duga-3 (NATO reporting name Steel Yard) was a Soviet over-the-horizon radar system. It was developed for the Soviet ABM early-warning network. The system operated from 1976 to 1989. Its distinctive and mysterious shortwave radio signal came to be known in the west as the Russian Woodpecker.
Two stations of Duga-3 were installed: a western system around Chernobyl and an eastern system in Siberia.
The transmitter for the western Duga-3 was located a few kilometers southwest of Chernobyl (south of Minsk, northwest of Kiev). The receiver was located about 50 km northeast of Chernobyl (just west of Chernihiv, south of Gomel).
The Soviets had been working on early warning radar for their anti-ballistic missile systems through the 1960s, but most of these had been line-of-sight systems that were useful for raid analysis and interception only. None of these systems had the capability to provide early warning of a launch, which would give the defenses time to study the attack and plan a response. At the time the Soviet early-warning satellite network was not well developed, and there were questions about their ability to operate in a hostile environment including anti-satellite efforts. An over-the-horizon radar sited in the USSR would not have any of these problems, and work on such a system for this associated role started in the late 1960s. Duga-3 could detect submarines and missile launches in all of Europe and the Eastern coast of United States.
The first experimental system, Duga-1, was built outside Mykolaiv in Ukraine, successfully detecting rocket launches from Baikonur Cosmodrome at 2,500 kilometers. This was followed by the prototype Duga-2, built on the same site, which was able to track launches from the far east and submarines in the Pacific Ocean as the missiles flew towards Novaya Zemlya. Both of these radar systems were aimed east and were fairly low power, but with the concept proven work began on an operational system. The new Duga-3 systems used a transmitter and receiver separated by about 60 km.

The spectator-friendly time trial and criterion create an exciting atmosphere for participants, teams, and family with quality fields from all over the Western US and Canada.
The Baker City Cycling Classic was named the Oregon Festival and Events Association’s Best Sporting Event in Oregon in 2012
