The sun popped through the mostly cloudy skies just before sunset tonight.
I went through a small market not too far from Notre Dame that was filled with thousands of little curios. I had my 50mm prime on my camera, so I went a little crazy. It’s a tough thing, really… how do you know when to stop? There were literally 1,000 different cool photos to take in the little market… I made due with about 50 and called it a day. Here’s one of them that I quite like…

Barbara's wonderful group has been hibernating for a couple of weeks but she's invited me to take it on for a while. Double exposure on film

One of the many marvellous photography techniques provided by analog photography is the double (or triple…) exposure film, directly on camera.
I was always fascinated by the possibility of handling the negative from the moment of shooting, and this factor was the key one for me when it came the time to chose a camera; I need a fully mechanical camera that allows me to control shutter speed, aperture, and lock the film for double exposure. Doesn’t seem like i am asking to much, am I?
Nowadays is relatively easy to produce double exposure. Although i like digital photography, i always preferred to create my double exposures with my trusty old camera, get out in the streets and enjoy shooting, avoiding tedious hours of post production in front of a computer screen, often ending up with a result that is closer to graphic design than photography.
The magic of double exposure is limitless. I love how it’s possible to mix and mash spaces that are completely different from each other, make them clash inside a new world that takes life inside a negative. I call it pre-darkroom; a manipulation of reality that we cannot affect in any way. Only at the time of processing the film we will how the planes stack with each other. Most times it is actually almost impossible to discern how the images complement each other; it might be simple luck, or it might very well be that these 2 worlds really take a life of their own on the silver of the film, and they become something else. In the end, what we try to do is to clumsily control the light.

In Italia e Spagna prende il nome di CICLONUDISTA. WNBR non è un organizzazione, ma un giro in bici con nudita’ opzionale. Non c’è un ufficio capo o un amministatore, ma nasce dall’esigenza dei singoli individui di organizzarsi e unirsi sotto idee comuni. Sta a te partecipare. È una manifestazione internazionale dove i partecipanti si organizzano e si incontrano in massa su mezzi auto-alimentati (come bicilclette, pattini e skateboard) per protestare contro la dipendenza dal petrolio e celebrare il potere e l’individualità del corpo. La regola è “svestiti quanto ritieni opportuno”. Il nudo parziale o integrale è incoraggiato ma non obbligatorio. BISOGNA QUI FARE CHIAREZZA E SPECIFICARE: Con il termine mutanda si indica un capo d'abbigliamento (sia maschile che femminile), in genere fatto di materiali naturali come cotone, seta, pizzo oppure artificiali come nylon, lycra, tulle, da indossare a contatto con le parti intime. La mutanda ha forme diverse a seconda che sia maschile o femminile. Per gli uomini esistono due modelli di mutanda: gli slip (sgambati) e i boxer (a forma di pantaloncino, ma più attillati). Solo Chase Day & Close to Home....
Luv it when the chases are in my backyard. Not having to drive 3 states and 1200 miles in 1 day is relief. I know I'm not the only chaser that says that. This was a phenomenal afternoon of severe weather. When I say this... It means that its photogenic & for the most part not effecting the farms, agriculture, livestock & the human element.
Mammatus before the storm, then I decided to bail on this first storm for the next which was to the north about 25 miles. This storm had wicked good rotation under the base. Even though it was high based it was producing some freakin awesome views.
The storm had overtaken my position and I had a 40 min drive to get back in front of this storm. It was on my tail the whole way back to the I-80 corridor. Though a little late I was still able to get back in front of shelf cloud. The teeth on the outflow were almost scraping the ground. It gave the effect of a funnel but it was not. Been doing this to long to make sure I know the difference.
That was a hoot. Though I waited til the last minute. I got swallowed by the core & had to wait it out. Want to see what its like out in the open with no shelter... This I have also done a billion times. 50mph winds rocked my truck! That was fun!
Finally, I blazed it backed to Kearney for this Storms Finale... Beautiful Sunset light illuminates the exiting storm with a Anvil Rain & Mammatus Cluster ... It was truly a Sight to See!!!!
