A shopping experience in my hometown has small individual shops that all offer something different to what you will find on the high street (or should I say online now).
I love the colourful displays that they create on a regular basis.
This is the current one. Multi language banners of greeting.

#SlidersSunday
Happy Orthodox Easter :-)
Taken back in 2016 on an unusually warm (for late March) and also strangely "sunny-hazy" Easter Monday at the Berlin Zoological Garden. I remember well that the sun managed to break through the clouds only a few times, and by the time we were about to leave the Zoo, the sun was all but a pale white disk behind the muggy layer of clouds. It was a weird "sunshine without sunshine" atmosphere, difficult to describe. When I look at this image now, after four years, the tree somehow reminds me of Earth, and the fruits look like all the different places, cities, countries, villages, all the individuals who live on Earth, and who are seperated from each other, but who are also connected to each other by the planet we live on / share, and nowadays we are connected with each other through social media, too. I guess it's the current "Corona situation" which gave me this idea...
The strange light on that day provided me with some nice tree silhouettes, and the dull grey, slightly yellowish sky made this perfect for some colour processing (or colour adding, actually) fun in Color Efex Pro. I re-processed this image only last week, but since I had processed it the first time around in Color Efex, I decided to stick to it. All that I changed this time is that I've used the "Bi-color Filter" on three different layers (in PS) for an even more colourful look, and I've also smoothed the image in Topaz DeNoise.
Actually I had wanted to upload this last Sunday both for Easter and for Sliders Sunday, then somehow didn't get around to do it (I seem to "not get around to do things" a lot lately during these strange indoors days...), then wanted to upload it last Monday, but, heck, there is no Sliders Monday, is there? But then I was delighted to learn from dear Flickr friend Cami mire (fdlscrmn) that the Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter this Sunday, so this is my slightly belated, yet also right on time Easter greeting and Sunday slide in one :-)
Not something I have tried before, but feeling challenged by the Crazy Tuesday challenge this week.
Harder than I realised, but after some a bit of patience, I was happy with the results.
A very eye-catching rainbow coloured bench lying just outside a Covid-19 vaccination station at the University of Malta.
Caught this rainbow after a small shower over our area; it didn't last long but highlighted the clouds so beautifully.
I spotted this tray of colourful pencils for visitors to use at the Turner Prize exhibition at the Towner Eastbourne.
It had been pouring with rain all day and as the evening began to draw in the sun decided to put in an appearance. As it was still raining (lightly) I thought there was a chance of a rainbow.....so glad I found it.
Over the rooftops, I spied a rainbow.
This appeared as a hail thunderstorm retreated and the low evening sun broke through - it was magnificent but fleeting.
Does that make it a Hailbow?

We had fun melting crayons today;-) I have been wanting to try this for some time. I saw it on Pinterest but have no idea who the original artist is so I can not give credit where credit is due.
This little toy Pinocchio said that he "never tried one of the tasty sweets", he may of told a lie, I'm pretty sure the nose has extended ... Oh' dear ....
Will he ever learn ?????
Happy Macro Monday .... everyone.
For The Weekly Colour Challenge - Colours Of The Rainbow. Kleenex have been issuing some attractive tissue boxes of late, including this one.
Before they catch me.Even in the dappled shade with a nice umbrella the sun has been fierce lately, it's supposed to be Autumn for heavens' sake.

This rainbow-rainbow thingy (or coastbow) couldn't be bothered to get out its bed by the look of things. Dont know what Its proper term would be. Anyway, I seen this unusual sight while passing through Broadford in Skye after a walk and joined in the bunch taking photos of it. There seemed to be a faint rainbow effect hugging the distant shoreline.
Have spent the whole New Year weekend waiting to use my new 80 - 400 Nikkor lens but the weather has been against me. The sea today was ridiculously savage with spray everywhere so thought it better to not get everything coated in salt. Thank god for an iPhone though I concede it's not quite a D800. Happy New Year everyone - happy snapping
Skittles - 11th November 2010 13:40
I probably do have a mild form of OCD since (amongst other things) I always line up my Skittles into colours before eating them! Whilst eating some the other day I thought it may make an interesting shot, so I decided to try it out at some point. The opportunity came sooner than I thought since WHSmith are selling the large bags for only £1 at the moment! :)
This is SOOC (Straight Out of Camera) aside from the usual RAW processing and a little capture sharpening. The extreme depth of field is courtesy of my lovely 50mm lens, wide open at f/1.4. I had to crop the image slightly since I didn’t have a limitless amount of skittles (sadly)!
This is my twenty-second image that has made it into Explore!
Highest position: #38 (12th November 2010... which makes it a Birthday Explore!)
In other news, this week I received:
30 Christmas cards - printed by WarehouseExpress; and
A large photo canvas - printed by CanvasDezign.
I would recommend both companies and they were both running special offers; I was particularly pleased with the canvas, which was of a recent photo from Scotland. The only thing I would say about the Christmas cards is that they are glossy and therefore do not look like traditional cards in my opinion, however they are still excellent quality. One of the cards was missing from the order which was a little disappointing, but upon reporting this I’ve been advised that they will reprint the whole order - so I’m very pleased with that (59 cards for the price of 20!!). As ever, I cannot fault their customer service.
Most people eat skittles, me, no I take photos of them melting.
In fact I actually had to buy 3 bags of skittles from the works vending machine because I ate the first two before I even left work, it wasn't the greatest of starts but it certainly helped work go a little bit faster.
Anyhow enjoy the colours of the rainbow
A few little pins and heart shaped eraser plus some reflections ~ not overly creative!!

This pink globe is made of glass and very fragile.
When my feng shui crystal is splitting sunlight into rainbow shapes and these colourful shapes are hitting the pink globe it looks like this.
