Freshly painted in its new Freightliner colours CF4407 is nudged out of the paint shop and straight into the cover of CFCLA's Goulburn workshops.

Probably the best piece of timing for a run past the shops I have ever done. CF4408 will follow.

Operator: Gama Aviation

Aircraft: Boeing 737-7BJ BBJ

Registration: VP-BBW

C/n: 30076/179

Location: Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM/EHRD)

Date: 19-1-2019

Remark: Quite an old BBJ by today's standard, built in 1998. It has been operated by Gama Aviation since 2002. The colourscheme is stunning in this light.

Looks identical to Metroline's Enviro400 MMC except the colourscheme.

Finally it is beautiful weather in the Netherlands, a good opportunity to take pictures.

In June 2011, I built this 'King of the Road' a Scania 143 H (400 hp). The truck has steering frontwheels, a working V8-engine and tilting cabin. Also, this truck has a pneumatic lifting boogie-axle. Several people asked me to built also a trailer.

The trailer has 3 steering axles and has a extandable chassis. The load on the trailer exists of 3 prefab concrete plates These concrete plates will be used as floorelements in industrial buildings

The colourscheme is the original scheme used by Berg Transport Oosterhout, the Netherlands.

A brand new spot for lineside photography at the time of taking this image. Here we see the rare sight of Freightliner locomotive 66501 hauling 90018, 70008, 57604 and 59201 (in that order) as 0M90 from Eastleigh to Derby Litchurch Lane on the afternoon of the 30/7/25.

The convoy were captured south of Hatton station just before 0M90 entered the loop where they were held for around 45 minutes. In addition, the convoy of engines were all enroute to the "Greatest Gathering" taking place in Derby on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd August 2025 as part of Rail 200.

Note the class 90 had been at Eastleigh for painting and has been outshopped in a special 60th Annversary colourscheme. The locomotive has new nameplates too, but these were covered over.

The original planned shot was spoilt by the sun coming out (ironic) which was not forecasted, therefore needed a plan B. This resulted in a restricted view of the entire consist from another vantage point.

Interior cab view of Go North East's unallocated ADL Trident 2/ADL Enviro 400MMC 6337 (YY64 GWX), which carries East Yorkshire's branding for service X46, is pictured here at Wetherby Services, Wetherby, whilst being transferred to the Go North East fleet. 05/10/19

An eight-vehicle swap is taking place between Go North East and East Yorkshire, with four double-deckers transferring each way.

Go North East are in line to receive all four of East Yorkshire's former demonstrator vehicles, numbered 794 - 797 in their fleet, whilst East Yorkshire are to receive four Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TLs, presently numbered 6118 - 6121 in the North East.

This swap is taking place as 794 - 797 meet the stringent emission standards of the promised Clean Air or Low Emission Zone concepts recently consulted on (as they have Euro 6 engines), whereas 6118 - 6121 do not (as they have Euro 5 engines).

It also standardises the fleet at both companies, with the Wrights bodied Volvo B5TLs being non-standard in the East Yorkshire fleet, whereas they'll be joining a fleet of seven already allocated to Riverside, in the North East.

Volvo B9TLs 6118 - 6121 are also ex dealer-stock, so have a non-standard interior colourscheme and low-back seating, making them unsuitable for use on Go North East's "X-lines" express routes. Prior to acquisition by Go North East, East Yorkshire had already taken a batch of these dealer-stock Volvo B9s, so these additional four should fit in well in their fleet.

All four vehicles being acquired from East Yorkshire into Go North East's fleet will be fitted with Next Stop Announcements, USB charging points, and be fitted with white Hanover LED destination displays. The two Volvo B5s require more extensive refurbishment work, including fitment of new seats re-trimmed into Go North East's new style, prior to entering service.

The forecast said clear skies. It was wrong.

Shot in mono to avoid a repeat of this colourscheme.

Go North East's unallocated "Green Arrow" branded ADL Dart SLF 5/ADL Enviro 200MMC 5490 (NK69 FBB) is pictured here in the yard at Saltmeadows Road Depot, Gateshead, prior to entering service. 05/10/19

The region’s largest bus company, Go North East, has invested £1.8 million in 11 brand-new, state of the art, environmentally friendly buses for its popular Green Arrow services.

The buses build on the operator’s existing investment, which has already seen 170 low-emission buses join the fleet in recent years, and a total of £12 million set to be invested in further better buses over the next 12 months.

The new Green Arrow buses, which were built in the north at the Scarborough factory of Alexander Dennis, will be rolled out over the next fortnight onto the company’s 97 route which serves Newcastle, Gateshead, Bensham, Lobley Hill, Whickham, Swalwell and intu Metrocentre with buses running up to every 15 minutes.

With a striking green livery, the buses are packed full of creature comforts and the latest technology including comfortable luxury seating with mobile phone holders, free Wi-Fi, media tables featuring wireless charging pads and at-seat USB charging points. There is also no need to worry about missing your stop, as the buses are fitted with next stop audio and visual passenger information systems.

The seats and interior colourscheme have been re-designed by design agency Creating Desire.

Quick trial of a colour scheme I'm thinking about using for a Steampunk SHIP.

This would be the colour scheme for the superstructure. It would also feature tan decks, reddish brown hulls and light bley greebling.

Thoughts?

I'm feeling pretty smug about this colourscheme.

Colour scheme: Bromeliad close up, pink with mauve to purple tips and a scatter of fresh yellow pollen here and there. Even more wonderful close up than at a distance.

Go North East's Riverside-based "Toon Link" branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5241 (NK56 KHJ) is pictured here on Greenside Road, Ryton, whilst working "Toon Link" service 11 to Blackhall Mill. 06/06/15

The recent entry into service of new Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid vehicles at Stanley on "Red Kite" services 45/46 has released the former allocation (Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity vehicles fleet numbers 5234 - 5242) to Riverside Depot.

Following a black repaint, these vehicles were subsequently branded as "Toon Link". The new-look "Toon Link" offers upgraded vehicles to passengers on services 11, 31 and 32, replacing the dated Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown vehicles previously allocated.

Out with the old, and in with a new colour! The revised livery is based on a black livery, with white vinyls, linking in with the colours of Newcastle-upon-Tyne's professional football club: NUFC. The club adopted its black and white colourscheme in 1894, so the colours are somewhat iconic in the city.

Kagoshima is the capital of the most southern Japanese island, called Kyushu.

This Kagoshima tramcar with line number 601 has a special colourscheme.

One side the white one is showing the lovely face of a cat. The other side the black one is showing a pig.

The acid yellow (or chartreuse) version was my entry in the Spoonflower/ Roostery Tea Towel Contest: Home is Where the Heart Is (and I loved the easy to obey instruction to "Keep it quirky or make it traditional– just be authentic!").

These little houses are modeled on the stone, clay and timber-framed houses of ancient Crete as depicted in found miniature faience plaques. I'm hoping they might suit the ardent archaeologist who needs matching tea towels. In the meantime they are a camping goods present for my friend's new trailer.

Oxford Bus Company's "Park & Ride" branded Dennis Trident 2/Alexander Enviro 400 253 (HW63 FHE) is pictured here on Park End Street, Oxford, whilst working service 500 to Oxford Railway Station. 01/08/16

New in December 2013; this vehicle was originally intended for Go South Coast's Southern Vectis subsidiary, and was allocated fleet number 1583. It was never delivered to the island, and was instead loaned to Oxford Bus Company for two years due to an increase in double-deck vehicle requirements in Oxford, retaining the island's two-tone green base livery and company fleet number. It was officially purchased by Oxford Bus Company in 2015, when it was allocated a fleet number in Oxford's standard numbering scheme, though it was never repainted into the standard colourscheme of the native Hybrid Enviro 400 vehicles on the Park & Ride 500 service.

On 15 September 2023, Transport for London instigated five days of confusion at Bond Street station, allowing much of the signage to be modified as part of the activities around London Fashion Week.

It certainly caused a stir amongst the passengers on the Central Line train I took through the station that morning. None of us were aware of the change, and a few were uncertain as to exactly where they were! I went back later and took a few shots.

The colour is apparently 'knight blue,' described by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee as one of "Burberry’s new brand colours.” The colour scheme change affected all three lines at the station - Elizabeth, Central and Jubilee, but not completely. Whilst platform and guide signs around the corridors had changed, the signs on the walls opposite platforms, beyond the rails, still had their original Bond Street signs - clearly too difficult to change just for a week!

And on Oxford Street, the (relatively) modern entrance into the station via the shopping complex retained its Bond Street Station label and colour scheme, whilst the older entrance just to the east was in this temporary scheme (I didn't look at the Elizabeth Line entrance to see whether it has been modified or not).

TfL subsequently admitted that the change was confusing for passengers and that perhaps more could have been done to resolve those issues. But having earned £200,000 for five days, TfL also will be continuing with this sort of thing when appropriate opportunities present themselves...

These colours so caught my eye, it's not only the colours but the textures as well.

Better On Black

This shot is a preview for coming shots.

I've done something new for me, I went a day to the track: Circuitpark Zandvoort, The Netherlands.

There was an event, Italia a Zandvoort, so there were a lot of Italian exotics today.

I'd never been to the circuit before since I got into (automotive) photgraphy, so shots from the circuit is something I've not shared with you before.

Due to this shot beeing a 'preview' and the theme of the day was Ítaly and Italian cars, I choose a shot from this great car, a Ferrari 360 N-GT, in a colourscheme based on the Italian flag.

Passionfruit flower: I always think these look like aliens. Love the colour scheme (purple, white and green) and those wriggly, squiggly white thread-like bits.
